• Games freezing at random

This only seems to happen in recent videogames, probably because they have more demanding graphics. Sometimes at random the game will freeze and the sound will start to repeat the same very short sample. There's no way out, I just have to push the reset button on the case. Sometimes a portion of the interface will be missing on the image I get stuck with, as if it got stuck halfway through drawing the frame. I'm assuming this is something to do with the graphics card... updating drivers didn't help, is the problem maybe something else? I don't usually uninstall the old drivers first, and I've heard I should. Is it CCleaner that lets you clean up all the old drivers so they don't muck it up?
I had a problem like this, I was able to solve it by changing the RAM timings. What brand/model of RAM do you have and what motherboard are you using?
Check your temps. get this http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html and post a screenshot.
Check your temps with HWmonitor, google your graphics card model and see what the max temps are for it, if its overheating, try to fiddle with the fan settings in CCC or rivatuner, crank it right up to where you are comfortable with the noise level. clean out the fins of the heatsink too
