Need a good quality 1TB External Hard Drive for ~$100

Hey, I'm considering purchasing a 1TB external HD for backing up and general storage in the Philadelphia PA area. I've been looking around and reviews from both online sources and friends of mine all say that the best choice is the Western Digital My Book in 1TB Flavor. The website sells it for $139.99 and Newegg sells it for $109, but I've found local retailers that sell it for as low as $99. I'm wondering if Facepunch agrees that this is the best choice.
Another option I'm looking at is Seagate drives, which seem comparably priced. However, I'm leaning towards Western Digital because of good experiences with them in the past and the good track record they have.
Yea $10 off the Western Digital.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136469 ~$99.99 w/Free shipping.
Why should I order that one and have it shipped over one I could just run out to the store and get for slightly cheaper? (A Local Sam's Club in Willow Grove sells it for $97)

Alright, thanks for your help!
(I wasn't sure if you were recommending me that exact one you linked to.)
I'll probably buy one tomorrow, and listen to more suggestions before then.
I Just bought another WD essential 1TB drive (this makes 4. 3x1TB and 1 320Gb) the oldest one I've had for 4 years never had a problem with em. great drives for the money
I have the last My Book 1tb before the light showed your space remaining, it's pretty nice.

Worth the $2, seriously?
You wasted more gas (money), time, and energy going to the store, but I guess you saved it with some convienence.
I am a proud owner of 3 dead hitachi deathstars, so please take my advice and don't buy hitachi.

I don't like having things shipped, I always try to buy things in stores.
First of all, 4-6 weeks is a long time.
Second, if the drive is dead, I can't just drive back to the store.
I need to mail it back, wait 3 weeks for it to arrive at factory, have them send it back, wait 3 weeks to get it back, and then have my drive working.
2 days vs 1 1/2 months.
The choice is clear.

you could have returned them
it'd cost me more to send them from here
[editline]01:31AM[/editline]
than to buy a proper 1tb hdd

What one did you buy cause I plan on buying a samsung f3 1tb soon when they come back in stock.
i didn't. I'd get a samasung, WD, or a Seagate. Almost anything is better than hitachi.

F3 comes back in stock tomorrow. Lets hope they have some good combos.
i've always been more partial to wd than samsung

The samsung is really fast though and cheaper. Usually I go western digital but you can't beat the f3s price and performance. Tomshardware did an article on it recently.

Also reason why nobody should trust newegg reviews. This is for the f3.
