It sorta sounds like an older grumpier version of Frank West, but there's just that little way he finishes his words that does make it sound really off from the original. Frank's apparently 52 in DR4 where he was 36 in DR1 and 41 in DR2. It makes sense to have his voice changed some but it does sound off.
Also they need to give him some George Clooney Salt and Pepper hair going on or make people asking him if he dyes his hair a running gag in the game.

the opening cinematic has him saying that he loves mini golf after being tricked into going back to willamette through the promise of minigolf so your macho coolman chud shit isn't remotely true.

In one of the first gameplay videos he immediately says "Well time to go save the world again" acting like he's hot shit.
Frank was a generic everyman caught up in some horrific situation just trying to get by. Now he's acting like some overtly cocky celebrity. Even in OTR when he was technically a celebrity he barely played on the fact and was still at his core a schlubby guy.

These games have never been about letting you play as your own mental character. It's not an Elder Scrolls game where you're a blank slate and the main quest is optional. You're Frank West, Chuck Green, Nick Ramos, Dick Baker, or those generic as fuck people from side stories in 3, and they save the fuck out of people (except for that last entry where iirc you can actually play as psychopaths).
I mean shit I would [I]love[/I] Saint's Row character customization with Elder Scrolls character personality progression in Dead Rising, but that's not what this game series is.
