Kind of interesting, seeing as minecraft is already out for playstation consoles. And minecraft as a title doesn't exactly make for a sequel. What would they be buying the studio for? Notch's likeness?

don't think Notch would be up for that. I think he's shown a hate for that very kind of attitude (selling minecraft to be an exclusive) and he's already rich enough to not do a damn thing for the rest of his life and just sit on the title as the owner of minecraft

Microsoft would milk that $2bn investment for every cent and end up killing the game as a result.
Imagine once Minecraft's inner workings have run their course, and (depending on consumer demand) a new Minecraft-like would need to be made to fill the gap. I don't want to see it get ruined Rareware-style. Stay away, Microsoft.
Please do buy it. That way fucking 10 year old call of duty kids will 100% not be in my ps4 games.
