well I would like to reformat my computer I am at my uncles house and he has the OS disc for windows 7 but I need to know will I be able to activate or install it? or is it single use only? move this thread to windows section please mods
Well since it's not your own disk, you will most likely have to pay for multiple activations.
Is your uncle working in some pc related field? If yes, he might have a multi-user license. If it's a standard user license windows, then it's one pc at a time.
Do you have your own key?
The Windows 7 DVD is for everyone the same, its the code that you enter that matters.
Do you have your own key?
It's a laptop, so he wouldn't have his own CD.
There's usually a sticker with a key on the bottom of laptops. If there is, use your uncles dvd and install it using that key.
well apperntly i am screwed because my sister peeled off my product key a LONG time ago [editline]14th November 2010[/editline] actually no start+ pause= got saved! [editline]14th November 2010[/editline] every thing is a go!
The Windows 7 DVD is for everyone the same, its the code that you enter that matters.
Wrong. OEM DVD's are specifically linked to a certain key and actually reject different keys than that of the one that came with the product. So I recall.
