• PC acting strange and refuses to start up normally.

I was sitting there playing Mass Effect 2 the other day and suddenly the computer turned itself off. I though alright and reached for the power button to restart it, what happens before I reach the button, is that the PC restarts by itself. I was kinda confused at that point so I watched. 2 seconds or so after starting back up, it shut down again, and then it started up again, two seconds later it was down again. But the third time I saw a bright flash from inside the computer somewhere so I quickly pulled the power cable. Afterwards I could smell burnt plastics from the computer. About half an hour later I opened it up to check for damaged electronics. As far as I could tell there were no damage to any parts in the computer. To test if the problem was still there I plugged in the power cable and pressed the power button. Just as the last time it runs for about 2 seconds then it turns itself off again, then it automatically goes back up. I feared something would get fried again so I pulled the power cable after it started back up, I fear the power supply might be broken but before I buy a new one I want to ask you guys if you know anything. You should also note that at the time I pulled the cable the computer was in an off state(before starting up by it self again) and even though it didn't have power anymore I still started up again! This time though it seems it quickly ran out of power and shut down after about one second and stayed off instead of going back up. Here are the most important parts: Corsair Powersupply 750W Black, ATX Bulk 140mm fan, 8x SATA, SLI Intel Core i7 Quad processor GeForce GTX 580 I'm not very good with hardware so those parts were found on the shipping list I got when I ordered the computer(about two years ago). :v:
you ordered a GTX580 two years ago?? nicee but you should check the capacitors on the motherboard if they are still in one piece if they are okay dont ever plug in the computer untiil you get a new powersupply

And as I've said, I couldn't find any kind of damage to the inside of the computer even though it smelled burnt. I pretty much checked all the parts.
chech the inside of the powersuply
I just found out that company I bought it from does PC repairs, gonna send it in there see what they can do with it, at least I might get my money back. My friend also advised me not to start screwing the computer apart in case it would void the warranty. I'll post back here in a week or so if I need to replace the part myself.
Take the parts out, air them off, then smell each one. You'll easily find out what part blew.
