Greetings, I've been tasked into looking into if it would be better to just buy a pre-built computer or just build one for my dad, who essentially just needs it for office work and 'editing' videos (basically just cropping out the unnecessary parts, nothing big).
I'm guessing he won't need a GPU, he was thinking of just getting an i3-2100 and going with that, but other recommendations are fine.
It's going to be a complete build, so everything but external accessories (monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc.) are unnecessary.
For a crazy requirement, since he has this old legacy Roland music mixer, is the mobo will need a S/PDIF port (pretty sure this should come with most of them, right?)
He also has a GoPro, so the HDD will need to be sizeable (300+ GB should be fine) since he plans to use it to use it to stuff them all on it carelessly.
He also lives in a pretty dusty area, and as to be expected will pretty much never get an aircan and dust inside, so some heavy duty dust-filters will be necessary, with the case itself or bought separately doesn't particularly matter, I think.
Thanks for the help.

We were thinking of just going with this. Seems like the best deal we can find for it, probably buy a few add-on dust filters and we'd be set.
Does the spdif port need to be coax or optical?

Either is fine.
Only bad thing about your combo is that the HDD is a "green" drive, which means you should expect low performance reading/writing.

Don't really need any real write/read performance, since at best it's going to just be storing things.
Remember, this isn't exactly a performance build, just a 'be able to get office work done, and a bit more beside that, with upgrade capabilites in the future if needed' build.
