Some questions about navigating and using the forums

I'm pretty new to the Facepunch forums. I made my account a few years back but never really touched this place until now. However, I am having some difficulties using the site.

First of all, is there an option to get notified when someone replies to your reply on a post? I'm getting tired of checking the replies I've posted just to see if someone has responded. There doesn't seem to be an option for that in the general settings, either.

Also, is there any other option for post placement inside a thread other than "Oldest First" and "Newest First"? Both seem clunky and very limited. Why can't posts be sorted by the number of replies or something that helps keep track of conversations in a thread?

Finally, are there any plugins that can improve the user experience?

Thanks a lot. The only thing I don't get is the ticker. How is that easier than checking the thread you posted in?

It shows what you have been rated over many posts and replies that have been made.

Ah, I see. Thanks again for the help. Too bad there's no way to change how posts are sorted, though.
