I currently use a Q8200/4GB DDR3-1066/HD4650.
I have the option of trading it for: Phenom IIx3 720/4GB DDR2-1066(OC)/Hd4850
Obviously better graphics card is better.
But will the processor be better? I plan on getting it to at LEAST 3.2ghz, and the Q8200 is 2.3ghz.
The CPU is good, but I'd go for a 955 and DDR3 RAM. DDR3 is about the same price as DDR2 anyways.
It's a microcenter deal. Get the PIIx3-720 get a free MB. It costs $100.

go for it, its an excellent chip, chance of unlocking the 4th core also. But if you dont, still good

unless its an nvidia chipset motherboard, most of the motherboards that will take that cpu have the SB710/750 South bridge anyway

A Tri-core still isn't even that bad to own.
I say it's a good deal OP. You'll have a major increase in gaming performance when changing from a 4670 to a 4850.
I'd do it.
