• Strange unidentified camera

So I found this camera in a drawer earlier. At least, I think it's a camera. It looks like it has a lens and it says "1.3 megapixels", but I can't find anything that it can plug into. I looked at all kind of connector-identification guides from Google but none of them have anything like this. In case anyone has trouble with the image, it is a bare pin type connector with THREE rings. I'd kind of like to know what the hell this is just for curiosity's sake. Three rings usually means theres a mic on it.
That really is weird. There's no model number, or manufacturer logo or anything to somehow identify it?
No, the only text is "1.3MEGA PIXEL", and then the L and the R. No other identification. Some random web browsing turned up this thing. Based on that, I am reasonably confident that this connector is a 2.5 mm stereo audio jack. However, I still don't know why it's on a camera. I'd appreciate any insight as to what the hell you use this thing for. I've also discovered that the round part with the lens in it can be rotated in both directions. My guess is this is some kind of zoom function.
Looks like something you could plugin to an IPod or something to record video or something lol
Can't really tell what the actual size of it is, but it looks like one of those hidden cameras.
It looks like it would fit an iPod, but it doesn't. The plug is too small. And as for the size, I should have thought of that. It's about 2.5 inches from the end of the plug to the top of the camera.
Can't really tell what the actual size of it is, but it looks like one of those hidden cameras.
Don't know why they would try to make a huge ass camera from like 1999, with only 1.3 mega pixels, and try to hide it...
I've checked with my family and from their responses the most likely theory is that it is either a) a camera accessory/upgrade for a really old cellphone or b) a webcam accessory designed to plug into a secondary display monitor. Given the apparent obscurity of the connector type, I'm leaning towards a in lieu of more conclusive evidence.
Take it apart and google the different chips. it's what I did when I got an unmarked webcam.
It's just a camera. I forgot how this connection type was called, but I found it on some car GPS navigation systems (for attaching backview camera) - basically the left-most circle is ground, middle one is video signal, and right one is power. Or something like that, roughly, you can attach it to your TV
