OK, getting my first desktop PC. I want to build it myself but I cant afford to pay for everything at once so I have to buy it through cyberpower PC because I can get a finance programme so please no "Build your own!!" comments, Because I would if I could. Anyway. I want to make sure im not overkilling anything so could somebody help me with a few components. The components I will be getting for definite CASE: coolermaster dominator CM-690 II CPU: i5 3570k COOLING: Corsair H60 water cooling RAM: Kingston HyperX 1600mhz 8gb GRAPHICS: Nvidia 660ti 2GB HDD: 1TB 7200rpm (WD) And these are the components I am not so sure about and need help with: MOBO: I think the P8Z77-M will be fine, But something tells me I should get the ASUS V PRO. Or do I not even need the M and just go for the G43 and save money? (I will not be doing SLI or using WIFI) PSU: Which of these 4 should I Pick?
You selected a micro ATX board, dont do that they are nightmarish to wire properly. If you dont want to use SLI: Corsair 600W PSU (Better brand than Cooler master and 600 is enough) The 3 Cheaper Motherboards are all pretty simillar (the Asus supports crossfire but thats useless with your card annyway) If you want SLI: Either the Gigabyte Z77X-D3H Or the MSI Z77A G-45. And the 750W CoolerMaster PSU since the 660Ti Draws about 253W on full load. (edit: Only draws 150~, the corsair will do) [editline]15th November 2012[/editline] Oh and some advice: Dont buy shit with money you dont have, especially when its more expensive that way annyway.
Finance options are never a decent way to go, they rip you off so much with the interest. Just save up, be patient and it'll be so much sweeter when you get your PC.
And the 750W CoolerMaster PSU since the 660Ti Draws about 253W on full load.
The 660Ti pulls 160-170W max, you're probably looking at anandtech or a similar benchmark site which shows total system power draw at load.
Don't get the H60, its total shit and a gimmick. Its not real water cooling because air coolers beat it. Get the biggest motherboard you can for your case, it just makes life so much easier.
