but does it have ID features for your balls?
Problem is, like most what Apple does, they introduce one thing and remove another. Zero reason to remove the fingerprint or to at least move it to the back. You got other companies like Samsung bringing Iris scans and yet still manages to keep the fingerprint. It all comes down to user preference. In the end for apple its not about how the user wants to use their phone, its about how they want you to use it. I don't want to have to pull my phone perfectly to my face to unlock my phone. Yeah sure it's probably more secure but that doesn't mean fingerprint already isn't secure enough.
but does it have ID features for your balls?
What's with the balls joke?
Can't I just hold up my phone with a picture I took of someone to unlock their phone?
it senses depth, so no
What's with the balls joke?
it's an important feature to me
What's with the balls joke?
wouldn't it be amazing if Face ID sucked at scanning faces but is 100% effective at identifying you through your balls
Wouldn't face scanning not work if you're in the dark? Fingerprint scanning seems like the more practical option to be honest.
It has an infrared light, so the camera can still see your face in the dark.
Put 2 camera's on the front and use some sort of multicamera depth mapping or a small lytro type sensor.

Not really, since every vagina looks different.
Not really, since every vagina looks different.
Yeah, but it only works on balls, because Apple restrictions.
Well, The face recognition is pretty weak. I tested Galaxy's Face Recognition when I just purchased the phone and my brother unlocked my phone when I was taking a nap. I asked how he managed to unlock the phone and he told me he just scanned my face when I'm sleeping lol with the Iris Scanner, that thing never happened. It's really hard to unlock your phone without your permission when you use Iris Recognition.
it senses depth, so no
So do other phones, but you can trick it with a lens iirc.
I wonder how it'll work with siblings/twins, when looking at pictures of myself and my little brother when we were both about the same age (6 or so) we look identical, so with siblings who look very similar it might not recognize the absolutely minute differences.
I just got to wonder where the face and iris (because samsung's thing was mentioned in the topic) data is stored. Is it kept on the phone, or does it go to the cloud where it could eventually be hacked and stolen? It's getting to a point that I can't trust "Smart" Technology.
Sucks if you're a woman
some women have balls at least so its not all bad
So do other phones, but you can trick it with a lens iirc.
not going to work -- they even tested it with creepy 3d printed face-masks:
I wonder how it'll work with siblings/twins, when looking at pictures of myself and my little brother when we were both about the same age (6 or so) we look identical, so with siblings who look very similar it might not recognize the absolutely minute differences.
twins: yes but only if you're identical and the same weight. fingerprints for twins can be close enough to fool touch-id as well.
I love the fingerprint scanner on my phone. I had it on the Nexus 5x and I have it on my Galaxy S8+ now, it's a great and easy feature.
Can't get into my phone again, better grow this beard out.
I seen a hands on and FaceID looks like it works pretty quickly. Doesn't work with your eyes shut though. Prefer touchID over FaceID still, but I don't think it's as bad as everyone is making it out to be. Till we get apps that have ads that pause when you're not looking at the screen
if they moved it to the back they'd be admitting that it was dumb to have it on the front, and their entire fan base already devoted themselves to defending the front-placement... they don't want to appear to backtrack, that's worse to Apple than moving to something new that isn't ready yet
I don't think the front is a bad place to have fingerprint sensor. They just couldn't put one on the front because fingerprint sensor tech isn't there yet to put one under a screen. Obviously a bit dumb they didn't just settle for back placement.
Wouldn't the facial recognition feature suck ass because of the limited camera resolution?

Any company that does send your biometric data to the cloud is an insecure company by default.
