I need Java's browser plugin to access the control panel for something, however, no matter what I do, none of the browsers I've tried (Chrome, Firefox, IE) are even aware I have Java installed.
Whenever I click "Install missing plugin..." when Chrome (or Firefox) tells me I'm missing the Java plugin, I redownload the Java installer, and just says it's already installed.
I've tried reinstalling, I've even tried uninstalling anything Java-related, and downloading/installing a fresh copy of Java.
The version I have installed is Java 7 update 25.
Truly stumped here, first time I've posted in this section.
I can confirm Java works with other programs such as Minecraft, it's just the browsers.
With Java installed, go to the start menu and type in the search "msconfig" without quotation marks and press enter. Under the startup tab, make sure anything to do with Java IS ticked. If it isn't, tick it and then click apply and ok and restart the computer. Also for Chrome, type about:plugins into the address bar and ensure Java is enabled. There are similar menus for other browsers
Java is ticked under startup, and I've already looked in about:plugins, Java doesn't even show up on that list.
