I am wondering, if price is no option, which company is the best to buy from? I know that building one is less expensive, I just need to know from experienced users.
build one [editline]01:58AM[/editline] there's never a reason to get a prebuilt
I can't stoop myself to the level of anything involving prebuilts.
Just, for some reason. I needed to have a prebuilt, which company is the best of the worst?
Hardware is just hardware isn't it? Just try and get the best deal you can. More legit specs, the better. If you are talking about laptops, go with lenovo because thinkpad > all

Dells work fine. Just don't try upgrading them beyond hdd/memory.
Dells work fine. Just don't try upgrading them beyond hdd/memory.
no they don't, they have shitty power supplies (they're also proprietary), shitty graphics cards, and depending on the model a btx mobo, making them un-upgradeable.
While prebuild PCs are not as good custom build, you don't need to be constantly shitposting with your rants on how much you hate it. If you must buy a prebuild, I think HP is a okay one to buy from retail stores, as the price is pretty fair for a prebuild console, and have a case with acceptable designs. @CPF: Dell is one of my least favorite brand, as they overprice the hardware, and uses proprietary parts and compoents, which includes the motherboard as well in certain models like what yumyumbubblegum have mentioned.
But they work fine =D IMO go manually built, you get to choose what you get, it might end up cheaper, and you get the experience. But other than that...

I bought one with the Quadro 140M card. After 1 year, the card overheated and we sent it in. they replaced the motherboard and sent it back. This time, the card overheated after 6 months. we sent it back. I worked for 3 hours before overheating again, then the BIOS barfed and now it doesn't turn on. Mine is not an outrunner. My cousin bought the same thing. His has been sent in 3 times. Lenovo is definitely not the way to go. I've heard dell is good, but I haven't used a dell in about 5 years. looking to them for a new laptop.
get a Mac :smug: if price isn't an issue and you want to dual-boot to play games.
get a Mac :smug: if price isn't an issue and you want to dual-boot to play games.
...no. Also, you have convinced me to go with building my own, can someone direct me to where I can get some beginners tips for first time builders? Also, is it a good idea to buy all the things you want in your PC your first build?
get a Mac :smug: if price isn't an issue and you want to dual-boot to play games.
no, why would you get a mac if your just going to install windows anyway [editline]02:35AM[/editline]
...no. ibuypower, if you really must buy prebuilt.
If you don't want to build your own, get a local computer shop (Like a real one, not Best Buy) to build one for you. They usually do it for sub 50$. They did mine for free.
- Don't forget to use standoffs - Install the RAM and CPU before you put the motherboard into the case - Use a lamented card (like a credit card/library card) to spread thermal paste - If it doesn't fit, it doesn't go there - Install the harddrive/dvd drive before you put the motherboard in - Install the power supply and plug it in, then touch the case every once and a while to ground yourself I think that's about it [editline]02:39AM[/editline]
ibuypower, if you really must buy prebuilt.
no he said he's gonna built it, don't ruin it
no, why would you get a mac if your just going to install windows anyway
um, because Macs are pre-builts. the OP asked for a pre-built and no preference of an OS was stated.

The only thing I sort of needed help with was putting thermal paste on because I didn't want too much or little. Put CPU on motherboard followed by heatsink RAM, Graphics card, etc follow doesn't really matter what order Plug power in etc
um, because Macs are pre-builts. the OP asked for a pre-built and no preference of an OS was stated.
I want Windows, its what I have used for about eight years, what I will use now.
um, because Macs are pre-builts. the OP asked for a pre-built and no preference of an OS was stated.
then why doesn't he just get a windows laptop, he can completely bypass that useless OS
I just gave a suggestion based on the OP, nothing wrong with that.
While building one is better, sometimes it isn't an option. I managed to save at least $400 by getting a factory refurb Acer. HP/Compaq is a fairly good brand, ASUS as well. Acer is a gamble, sometimes they're good (I've had luck 3 times with them), but I've known people who've had them break within a month. Dell is overpriced and shitty, E-Machines break after a few years, Alienware aren't worth it at all, you could build 3 equivalent PCs for the price of 1 Alienware, Lenovo are decent, Toshiba are crap, Sony are fairly good. Still, your best option is build it yourself. Not only do you get experience, but there's nothing like seeing your own creation work wonders for you.
Asus is good.
I just gave a suggestion based on the OP, nothing wrong with that.
if he's going to game at all there's no point in getting a mac [editline]02:46AM[/editline] actually there's no reason to get a mac at all but let's not start a flamewar

ITT: Opinions on prebuilts. My opinion? All prebuilts suck.
