Is what I have good? I want it to last a couple of years, I have fans and such, compatability as well as cables are appreciated, thanks.
Looks good to me, except I would get an i5 750 and some RAM that isn't so extortionately priced.
I already have 2GB from this build that I'm putting along with that RAM.
do they have the exact same specs?
Okay then what about a cheaper motherboard? Say, an i5 750 and about $100 on a motherboard. Also, yes, it is the same RAM
DDR2 RAM on a DDR3 mobo won't work.
I'm afraid it's not as simple as that. The i5 is faster despite having a 740Mhz slower core clock, and you can get the i5 to around 4GHz with a decent cooler (you already have a good case for cooling, why not get a good CPU cooler and overclock?). [editline]04:54AM[/editline] And yeah you need DDR3 not DDR2 here.
Ok, I switched the CPU to a i5, what RAM do I get? Is 4gb Enough? [editline]05:23AM[/editline] Why does my new link take me to amazon
Take your pick: http://www.amazon.com/G-Skill-PC3-12800-1600MHz-9-9-9-24-Channel/dp/B002RPCLH6/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1266643698&sr=1-7 http://www.amazon.com/G-Skill-PC3-12800-1600MHz-9-9-9-24-Channel/dp/B002RPCLH6/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1266643698&sr=1-7 4GB is plenty. I mean, for getting the computer to last longer, is 4gb really enough? I have 3gb now and it overloads on a daily basis.
Are you using a 32-Bit OS? If you are, get 64-Bit Windows 7. Try 4GB - it's an easy upgrade if you find out you need more.
Good idea, Do you have MSN? This is a little slow posting back and forth on here.

Don't need a 700w PSU

Much better performance from a single 5850 than that crossfire. Not to mention that it is also cheaper.
