So what are your opinions, do you prefer Nvidia or ATi? Intel or AMD?
And why!

I prefer whatever is cheapest at the time...
:3
Depends. Intel and nvidia have the best high-end products, but for all but the very top of the line products, AMD wins.
What are your opinions OP? I'm guessing troll bait thread....
Anyways, New AMD Phenom IIs are awesome overclockers so they have my support and ATis 48xx series are awesome and good value. So yeah, for AMD wins both the CPU and GPU market. That is unless programs start supporting 8 threads, then the core i7 will be awesome, especially with new steppings for better overclocks.
My opinion, well i like the intels yeh, but AMD just seem cooler :D.
Plus for value, you can get the top end AMD X4 for around 150 i think and it outperforms lots of the Core 2 Quad range, plus the black edition = an unlocked multiplier Overclocking ability? Shwing!
Whatever has the best bang/buck, so AMD/ATI at the moment.

If anyone says anything other than this, they're a mongoloid fantard or they better have an incredibly good reason

Depends what kind of power you want and what your budget is.
At the moment ->
Low/Med/Highend: AMD/ATI
Ultra Highend: nVidia/Intel.
But in reality, you don't need all that power

You do if you're doing serious game development.
Animation/High Poly modeling/Rendering uses humongous amounts of resources.

I have to agree with this, but as I am on a fairly tight budget until I can find a part time job or something, I prefer to buy ATi, as, generally, they are much cheaper than nVidia and offer good performance.
I don't have favorites, I just use whatever comes along. Cept for matrox, I wont use that...
AMD/ATI, nVidia seem better for playing Mirrors Edge (it just crashes for me), but I don't want to buy one just for that
