PATA hard drive lock.

Hey, just wondering can someone help, basically there is a PATA hard drive, which is locked, it's asking for password, it's very old yet working, need to find way to reset/bypass password and use it, otherwise I am stuck with laptop which doesn't work.

DBAN is low-level, bitlocker is filesystem level. DBAN will happily nuke the shit out of the drive.

AFAIK you can just format an encrypted HDD.

Maybe windows partition tool doesen't allow it, but Linux certainly does.
