Hello, i just recently purchased 2 23 inch lg ultra thin monitors, and have them set up right now fine, But what i want to do is horizontally span, like you could do in windows XP, so i can play games on both screen, have the task bar stretched across.
For instance, horizontally spanning tells the computer that instead of 2 monitors at 1920x1080, you have 3840x2160 , etc. As far as i know there is no way to do this with windows 7 that i know of, but im hoping you guys know some ways.
If you don't know, please post what you do with your monitors, thanks!
eyefinity
Using 2 screens for surround gaming is not very fun, since the center of the screen is going to have a huge gap.
It depends what graphics card you have. Like Flash said if you have an AMD card you can setup the two displays in a group that makes it intil a 3840x1080 window.
I currently have a shitty gts 250 graphics card, and will be upgrading to the gtx 570..
SoftTH could work, depends on the games you play.
If this isn't for games, Ultramon?
Taskbar on both screens is wasted screen space anyway.
Well i have an extra 21.5 inch monitor, so how would i either set this up, or get a tri monitor set up going? i dont think that my computer has 3 slots for monitors.

Hmmm, I don't know much about computers if you guys couldn't guess, but I am thinking that the graphics card has the slots, so if i get the gtx 570, keep my 21.5 monitor (idk if its the same height as other monitors), then i could have a tri monitor setup which would work and i could use softTH?

Be much more easier.
how do you set up eyefinity? i have the same exact problem with this dual mon thing. i have a 5770 if that helps.

I got a new version of CCC when I upgraded to a 6870, but what you need to do is find the part that looks like this:

Click the arrow pointing down and click "Create Group". It should be fairly straightforward after that, I would go farther but I don't want to mess up my current setup.
Please don't. Triple monitors would be fine, but dual is really bad to play on due to the bevel.

It depends on what your playing, but if you have two monitors and an AMD card it is pretty cool to give it a shot at least once.
I think i am either going to use an old 21.5 inch monitor, or sell that monitor, pick up an exact same monitor ( i have 2 lg 23 inchers, id just pick up another) and then get the gtx 570 an have tri monitors..
fuck i need $$.

I am fairly sure that to get nvidia surround you have to have cards in sli
is it possible to run three mons of one video card? amd or nvidia. because you could do 2 of dvi and 1 off the HDMI port.

Only with Eyefinity from AMD cards.

Is it possible to have SLI with 2 different cards?? i was planning on buying the gtx 570 and just keeping my gts 250, not sure if that would work.
Thanks :)

currently the only way to get three or more monitors from a single card is two monitors running from VGA/DVI/HDMI and displayport for the third

no but you could use the gts 250 for physx if you think it's worth it

Best invention yet.
Use an odd number of screens, but yea I think eyefinity.
Don't play games with 2, always odd numbers, otherwise you can't see the middle of the screen.

that's still using DP, my point was you can't use 2 DVI and HDMI at the same time
