Hey guys, my friend was considering buying Portal 2 on PC via Steam for his laptop, although I'm not sure if it will run the game, if at all, on his laptop as it does not meet the system requirements (his CPU isn't apparently fast enough).
Here is its specifications
Intel Celeron (1 core) 2.0GHz
1GB RAM
Intel X4500
Windows 7 Home Premium

He wanted me to note that he could run Portal 1 on medium without considerable framerate drop, but I guess the engine has changed a lot since the release of Portal 1.
So, can my friend run it at even the lowest of low settings?
Thanks in advance
Edit: Are we allowed these threads?
Double Edit: Sorry, it seems we're now allowed can we run x threads. Sorry, but I really don't know

I'm pretty sure if he can run Portal 1, He could run Portal 2.
All Portal 2 really has is upgraded Dynamic lighting, That's about it.
I'm confident that it will run like shit, but even shit can be kicked. I haven't tried it myself, so I can't talk about how much the new stuff (the paint and shit) eats performance.
a single core 2ghz celeron and an intel GMA probably mean he would be able to run it on low at a low resolution, if that. Really I'm not sure, you'd have to try it and see.
Can a monkey write the complete works of Shakespeare?
Yes, but I wouldn't stick around waiting for it.
theres a thread in general games discussion called "Can my ____ run X" Somewhere.
Well, I had to log off, but his Steam in-game time on Portal 2 has gone to 8 hours, so I presume it worked.
Thanks guys
