• Problems getting my new computer going

Hey, So I just got all the new parts for the computer I'm building today and got started. My specs are: EVGA P55 sli, 2 Geforce 250GTS' (only one is hooked up at the moment), 750W power supply, i7 processor, 6GB DDR3 Firstly, I've plugged everything in correctly (to my knowledge) but the power button won't work. When I flip the power switch on at the back the leds on the mobo come on, but then there's this constant beep that sounds like it's coming from my CPU. While this is happening, if I touch the 24pin connection on the mobo, the entire thing shuts off. Also through this whole thing the fans aren't going. This is my first time building and I made the mistake of not having knowledgeable people there while I put it together, so if I left out any details it's because I'm new to this. Any help is appreciated.
Remove the video card and all but one RAM stick
I know what this is look next to the ram slots and there should be dim # and put the ram in the first 3 I had this same problem with an i5 build.
Wait, what Doesn't P55 use dual channel? 6GB DDR3 would be triple channel for X58 wouldn't it?
Wait, what Doesn't P55 use dual channel? 6GB DDR3 would be triple channel for X58 wouldn't it?
3 DIMMs would work... just that p55 doesn't support triple channel
So I'm an idiot and just didn't put all the stand offs in for the mobo and it was shorting. Fixed now though. Thanks anyways for the input
You are lucky you didn't fry your mobo.
