Call of duty has the best most loyal fans in the world?
Is that why those same fans tell the devs the kill themselves every time a gun is slightly altered?

as a thankyou to our fans here is something to buy

NSFW is more or less used for nudity and pornographic content. If you find that NSFW then you can consider all of facepunch NSFW. :v:
Or it's a big 'fuck you' to players that like the series but wait for reviews and won't be able to play with friends who aren't as patient.

*sighs*
Almost makes me embarrassed to be a gamer. It's a good thing that only a very vocal minority would be saying shit like that because...damn. I'll never understand how some people can get so angry and entitled over something so trivial.
as a thankyou to our fans here is something to buy
no thank you for giving us more content to buy infinity wards
we're your loyal customers
do you want your cock stroked, IW? yes? ok IW. I will. Just let me buy more maps from you.
[sp] like holy shit why [/sp]
I hate the way they make it out like they are doing us a favor. It's like buying a new car and the dealer is all, "Hey I like you, have a free floor mat."
"This idea of bringing that cinematic single player experience to multiplayer.”
yes, that's exactly what your players want. thank you. thank you for this.
You can tell they haven't even finished it yet, like they've scrambled to make it in response to Battlefield.
So, saying thank you to fans is the same as saying fuck you to people who don't preorder their game?
Don't think they thought this one through.
yes, that's exactly what your players want. thank you. thank you for this.
i dunno i like the idea of having a multiplayer map that feels like something out of the singleplayer
people really like to whine about pre-order bonuses when they've been around for eons, it's not gonna change because of your sick nasty sarcasm burns on the internet.
Think about it, they're releasing a pre-order bonus as a thank you, perhaps they're saying thank you to the people who pre-order their games?
[editline]2nd September 2013[/editline]
but of course there's the inevitable box spam and "no you're wrong because call of duty" so why even bother talking to the wall
yes, that's exactly what your players want. thank you. thank you for this.
Only like 15% of the people buying COD doesn't even touch the singleplayer.
Black Ops 2 brought back Nuketown and it was made available for free pretty quickly. I mean fuck Calladuty that shits stupid how dare they sell
I thought they would add a free map for Black Ops 2 or something similiar. A purchasable "thank you" map is quite ridiculous.
I thought they would add a free map for Black Ops 2 or something similiar. A purchasable "thank you" map is quite ridiculous.
maybe it's a thank you to the millions of people that preorder their games???
“We have the best and most loyal fans in the world,” reason Infinity Ward. “And as a thank you we’re working on an awesome new multiplayer map to give you as a day one pre-order bonus.”
i think that the loyal fans he's referring to would preorder every cod game and subscribe to elite. if you buy every other game 5 months after release, you're not a loyal fan.
That's another perspective, but including a map as a preorder bonus as a "thank you" sounds like a false pretend to make some good PR. I don't see a difference between other preorder bonuses, most games these days have preorder bonuses in form of dlc. Branding it as a "thank you" seems dumb in my opinion.
milk are you the official defender of the CoD franchise, as soon as a comment with a slight negative touch arises, you feel the need to defend the series. I agree that there is a lot of silly criticism going on but every thread where you posted, everything turns to shit.

no, apparently i'm one of the few posters on this forum that doesn't immediately hate a game because some dumb bandwagon tells me to. i'm going to play a game if it looks fun, i don't care if it's the "same game every year"
if you don't buy it? cool. you saved yourself 60 bucks that you can now spend on something else. once enough people stop buying call of duty, it'll go away. witty zingers and comments like "haha money grubbing copy-paste evil" won't stop people from buying the game.

You are in literally every thread involving EA, Bioware, or COD.
There's no excuse.

One possible excuse could be that he is interested in EA, Bioware, or CoD games beyond simply opening up the thread, rating it dumb/funny, maybe shitting on the game, before waiting for the next EA, Bioware, or CoD thread to pop up in News Node.
I dunno, that might just be me who browses/posts regularly in threads for games I want to read/discuss about.

You're somebody who considers themselves a special snowflake yet follows the vocal majority and politically correct ideals to the grave. All your opinions were precreated through the use of media to say what you should and should not believe in, rather than creating your own opinions on the subject. As much as you can deny it, all i've seen from you is the exact stuff people tell other people to believe in. Anyone who doesn't agree with homosexuality is a bigot, anyone who doesn't agree with everything feminists says is a misogynist, support the president who indicts change, say no to morally questionable things in a morally questionable world, agree with everything else agrees to. It's not wrong to disagree with certain things, it means you're willing to step out of a cesspool of self served opinions given to you by others as a means to not hurt others, even if the end result would do more good than bad to the person. You can't criticize anyone anymore because people will call you entitled, even if their creation isn't remotely good. And while it's fine to agree with certain parts of that, you can't say you're not on this bandwagon when you're just riding the one that millions of other "gamers" are currently following. You're on a hundred bandwagons and you think acting kind to a developer who basically does whatever they want, community input or not, is a positive thing. I'm alright with people enjoying call of duty, but I have my own reasons to dislike the series, and just because many people don't like it doesn't make it any more of a bandwagon than the thousands of people who play the game because all their friends do it. In fact, the majority of people buying call of duty each year is a bandwagon itself, everyone hops on because their friends play it and if you want to be the kool kid at school you gotta buy the newest game.
And the issue is that Call of Duty won't go away until it's alienated its entire playerbase for a community that practically doesn't exist, and even still by that time there will be a new series everyone plays yearly. Before, we had halo and whatnot. Now we have call of duty, it's a cycle that will continue.

That last piece of housekeeping is less enjoyable to discuss but I feel the need to remind all of our members to respect both your fellow players and the staff at IGP and PGI. We have seen an alarming number of verbal, and written threats directed at staff. These threats, whether idle or simple jokes will be treated as real, with local authorities being notified. There is no situation on earth that warrants these attacks, so I kindly remind you to think twice before posting anything that might be viewed in this light. Behind each of the names you see on the forums or Facebook or Twitter, are real people. Please keep that in mind - we do!
and i'm pretty certain you're somebody who's guilty of statutory rape, nobody's perfect i guess. either way you're definitely somebody who churns out a literal giant ass block of meandering, overly philosophical mush (and then ends it on a note about CoD lol) and expects anyone to actually read it

Holy shit. I feel bad for whoever these were intended for.
Am I the only person in the world who sees nothing unreasonable about this? 'You, our loyal fans, are going to preorder the game anyways, so here's a bonus'?
I mean if you're sufficiently skeptical that you're going to wait for five independent reviews to ascertain the game's worth before giving it six months before you buy it for $10 on sale, I don't think you're in a position to claim that you deserve it because you're such a loyal fan.
Holy shit. I feel bad for whoever these were intended for.
David Vonderhaar is the lead designer that tweaked some of the weapons in Black Ops 2. The two bolt action snipers got a longer delay between shots and an assault rifle got a nerf (my fav rifle RIP in peace). A very slight change overall, really.
I know there's a whole debate going on above me, but ignoring that for a second, this looks pretty neat. It's ludicrous, but I've always kind of wanted to see crazy insane battlegrounds like this. If I played COD it'd probably be enjoyable.
That said, this is a mad scramble to compete with the positive response that was given to BF4's levelution thing, without a doubt. It's that kind of childish response of "hey look, we're doing it too we swear!!! We're cool!!!" A bit obnoxious.

While I do agree to an extent, I feel the new semi-destruction will be a bit more competitive than BF4's. I play CoD instead of BF because I want a competitive shooter, and 100% destruction goes against the careful map layouts, etc. I think they're adding it to compete, but I feel the way they're doing it is spot-on.
