Hey FP, just picked up my Bamboo Pen (usb Tablet), and WHOA momma, I'm digging it. I could rave forever about it, but I'll spare you the details.
My question: is there anyway to use it in FPS's? Unless perfectly centered, it causes the camera to spin in what ever direction the pen is from the centre.
Pic (made with pen, excuse my sketchy ness):

My mother has one of those that she uses for her graphic design work, and having played with it myself, I'd say there's no way you could use it accurately in a FPS. The problem is that the work area of the Bamboo maps itself to the entire screen, so the slightest movement on the tablet is actually a huge movement for the mouse, along with being at a very high speed. You're better off using your mouse, or if you really want something different, using something like a Novint Falcon.
Ya, definitely picked upon the over-sensitivity problem. thought it would be neat, but alas, back to the mouse. A tiny pad scaled to a 22 inch screen is a biiig change in res and dimensions. Thanks for the confirmation on my fear hehehe.
Play with the settings in the control panel and switch it into mouse mode behaviour for the pen, it should work a little more sanely then. Good luck shooting at anything though, the only game I've ever sucessfully played with my tablet is osu.
It's hilarious in FPS games to plug in the pen and act like you have a spinbot
It's utterly useless in games aside from Osu!
yah when i used my wacom, it made me spin very fast in circles in tf2 XXD
I tried it. But the whole "if you hold down your left click feature it will right click" was a real bitch.
Most games work by forcing the cursor to the center of the screen, and when the mouse is moved, it moves a little from the center and quickly snaps back to detect the distance the mouse has moved to respresent the amount of look distance ingame. If you use a tablet and put your pen at, say, the top left, the cursor is constantly snapping from the top left to the center, causing the game to think you are rapidly moving the mouse upwards and right, which will cause that spinning effect.

You are a genius that makes perfect sense (not sarcasm).
I'm pretty sure you can get indie games that uses these as controllers, just for fun.
I'm pretty sure the bambo pens have the option to change to "mouse" mode...
