Everything that comes out of these devs' mouths is fucking stupid. (User was banned for this post ("Please read the article before posting, not just the title" - icemaz))
Paid content is a great way to get free content? Huh? (User was banned for this post ("Please read the article before posting, not just the title" - icemaz))
why lie, no one will fall for it, just be honest and say that you dont care about your playerbase (User was banned for this post ("Please read the article before posting, not just the title" - icemaz))
Is there going to be a way to return the game when it comes out of early access? I made a bad decisions a few years back.
Paid content is a great way to get free content? Huh?

In February, Ark: Survival Evolved developer Studio Wildcard unveiled a sponsored programme that would pay mod creators on a monthly basis for their work. Offering a stipend of $4,000 per month, each individual's work would be evaluated, and it would thereafter be determined if those modders would continue to be paid for the next month.
I could be reading this wrong, but are they not saying that the studio is paying the modders, not the players?
They keep making titles that are too big. Only for Ark.
These devs are so shitty jesus (User was banned for this post ("Please read the article before posting, not just the title" - icemaz))
These devs are so shitty jesus
And they are successful. Worst combo.
Yes. How dare they reward modders for making their game better. They should keep their money to themselves. Those greedy bastards. /s
This is the first time I've ever heard of a dev team going to the mod makers and essentially commissioning them for stuff. At least the players don't have to pay for it.
The devs acknowledge the good work modders are doing and send them a paycheck. Mentally deficient rejects on a forum somehow find a problem with that.
The modding of this game is great, and honestly, its the best modding support that I've ever seen. I always think programs like Bethesda's upcoming one and the old steam paid mods to be a way for the publishers to make money off modders while giving them a small percentage of the revenue, but these guys are litearlly hiring you to mod their game and let you churn out free content.

I really hope it becomes common. The community can be a powerful collaborator with bugs and content. Supporting the creators will also boost the output of the community. New content -> Money to the collaborator -> More/better content. This practice can also prevent problems, when a previous mod gets added to the game. (e.g. Baby animals in minecraft. The modder got 0% recognition.)

It's not like modders mod to get paid in the first place. Besides, it is a legal nightmare to have someone's IP in somebody else's IP without prior negotiations.

Without that, it's the developers saying "you made this? We made this"
I was talking about this thread to a friend, with the title being renamed and four people being banned over it. While I'm also going to admit I haven't read the article, and neither did my friend, we had the thought that the article is using a really bad title to gain user attraction. The title on the thread being edited even adds to the fact that it's a poor choice of words on PCG's part. Is it baity? probably so
