Not sure if this belongs in the Apple section or not, but my friends mom is getting her a laptop for graduation, and she said that her mom wants to get a mac, but if she can get a better laptop that costs less then she can get that one.
That being said, my friend doesn't really want a mac, mainly because she doesn't want her mom to spend so much on one.
Help?

I have no idea how much an MBP cost, but this will blow it out of the water for $900.
The model her mom wants to get her is $1199, but I think that ones a bit too big.

The only thing you should assume we know are the specs of the 13in MBP you're talking about. If you aren't looking for one one doesn't go to the Mac subforum.
