I'll start where the band started. I wanted to start a band so I found an ad in the paper which was by a drummer that wanted to jam with people and cover songs by bands of the likes of Tygers of Pan Tang, Iron Maiden and Diamond Head. Me and this other guy, Hugh answered. And after a while he managed to convince this record producer for a spot on their upcoming compilation album, and I was put on rythm Guitar and Vocals. (This is 5 months after we have met btw.)
We didn't recruit the guy Hugh, he went somewhere else, so instead as a band we managed to place an ad in the same paper looking for a lead guitarist. After grueling guitarist after wanabee, this guy with [I]Really[/I] expensive guitar equipment came in, and we pretty much recruited him then and there. After that we then recorded our first song together, for the compilation album, and I played Bass.
We played a couple of gigs after that, and at one in San Francisco, we went into the club and were like "Wow thats a heavy guitar" but infact, it was a bass. We were blown away completely, and asked him to join, as our bassist at that time was pretty shit, not handing in a single fucking song, just a yes man. Regardless, He declined, but later and after much begging he said only if we move to San Francisco. We agreed, and moved to San Francisco.
In San Francisco, we started recording our first Album, and this is when shit got bad. Remember our lead guitarist? Well turned out he was drug dealer, and was a fucking addict himself. He would turn to rehearsal stoned, constantly get arrested for being Drunk and Disorderly, Harrasment and would turn up to shows high. When we confronted him he seemed Ok about it, But he went and fucking kicked my dog and smashed up my Car. FUCK HIM, I thought, so we all voted unanimously, and kicked him out. We flew in a new guitarist the same afternoon.
So everythings going well, we release our first album, go on tour and generally have fun. Then we find out that he's started his own band, ripped off perhaps our best song from that album, by changing the lyrics and some of the guitar chords, and said it was to "Straighten us up". He also said our new guitarist Kirk stole his job and got famous for playing his songs.

QQ (in Azeroth,) more OP, Kirk isn't even that good at guitar, and all of Metallica's albums sucked balls after Ride The Lightning. Mustaine wrote Mechanix before anyways. He should get to take it back if they booted him out.
And if someone kicked my dog I would act the same way, regardless of what he did.
TL;DR Metallica isn't as good as Megadeth and dogs should not be kicked.
