• Frequent BlueScreens + programs crashing.

I have been frequently (2 or 3 a day maybe) getting blue screens for the past few days. It seems to usually be 1 of 3 errors: Memory Management, system service exception and a third I cant remember the name of atm :c I had previously been getting frequent memory management ones, and I thought that the ram was probably faulty, so I upgraded from some cheap corsair stuff (2x2GB sticks), to 8GB (2x4gb) of Vengeance 1600mhz. And for about a week I didnt get anymore, so I thought it was probably fixed. These really frequent problems that I have been noticing now, started about 2 or 3 days ago, and I believe it started when I had downloaded some new drivers for a TV receptor usb thing. I downloaded them and it began to extract the files to begin install, im pretty sure it wasnt installing, just extracting the files at this time. Then the computer locked up. I couldnt move the mouse or anything and I was forced to restart. When it rebooted, it needed to do a disk check. I think since then I have been having problems. It has done one other disk check since then, also after a crash. I read somewhere to go into admin command prompt and do "sfc /scannow". I believe it checks windows files or something? After the check, which failed the first couple of times, it told me it found some corrupt files, but was unable to repair them. I dont really know if its common to have some broken files, or if when it comes up positive, you really need to fix it. If so, how do I fix it? The "programs crashing", is kind of hard to explain. One time when I started the PC, windows explorer kept on crashing every 3 minutes or so and having to restart the program. After I restarted the PC this problem was gone. Also, very often now I will get a message shockwave has crashed in google chrome, and videos wont work until I reload the page. This never happened before now, now it happens all the time. About 5 minutes ago, shockwave crashed like, 3 times in a row. I started another virus scan and shortly afterwards, system service exception blue screen. Thats about all I can think of. I really hope it isnt a hardware problem :( Here is what the "sfc /scannow" says: When I go to the file its pointing at, it says access denied and then opens a blank notepad file. And google chrome crashed twice while trying to upload that. Im not saying programs crashing is particularly unusual, but everything is crashing all the time, and it never used to.
Well your problem is right there, there's corrupt files, odd that you can't open the log file though. Get a linux live cd and access the log file with that
I just found I can do a system restore to shortly before I downloaded the TV driver update thing. Might this fix everything? I've never used stystem restore, what would I lose? I tried a system restore, it did it, when it rebooted it said that your computer cant start and tried to repair for like half an hour. It failed, then restarted and everything is normal, but im pretty sure the restore failed, as something it said would be removed is still here.
do a system repair from your windows cd?
