Turkish trucker desperate - Swedish cop gives him food.

A Turkish trucker wandered about the Swedish town Eksjö on Christmas Eve, apparently desperately looking for nutrition. Alas, all restaurants and shops were closed.
Coming across a police patrol, the Turkish bloke explains his situation and one of the policemen grants the 'starving' man his lunch/dinner/Darkspawn taint.

Note, source is in Danish.
This entirely compensates for the Copenhagen disaster.
(never mind that was in Denmark)
do you mean copenhagen disaster as in al gore
but anywho, a heart for each of those officers. (:
The real question is why a turkish trucker was wandering around Eksjö on Xmas eve.

Also I thought that those turkish restaurants never ever close.
How nice of them.

Delivering stuff to Sweden, then maybe the snow delayed him. A guess.

well if that was the case, wouldn't it have been easier just delivering via air, turkey to sweden is quite a distance away for trucking.
Nice Swedish policeman gave his lunch away

A Turkish lorry driver who was in the Småland-style town Eksjö the Christmas days of waiting for a new cargo on Monday, Christmas Eve was looking desperately for a place to buy food.
But both stores and restaurants were closed.
When he runs into a police patrol and explain his situation turns one of the uniformed officers to Santa Claus and give her lunch for the stranded driver, telling Swedish Radio Jönköping.
- The policeman thought that it was easier for him to obtain a new lunch box than it was for the Turkish driver, said region watch Ingvar Åkerberg.

Yeah planes are quite cheap to operate compared to trucks. (Not really)

That's a borderline straight translation of the Danish article.
And yet there ain't one article on any Turkish websites on this thing... If it was some truck driver who was arrested they would make a HUUGEEE thing out of it and idiots would comment like "Europeans just hate us and they want to use us" and crap like that which builds more hate on people...
I swear media or the government is controlling the news feeds and making us citizens believe in stupid things and well, most of our people are just ignorant..

Oh gee, wonder if the front page of USA today would be "American truck driver got a banana in Mexico!"
(Oh bad puns come on)

Oh trust me you would at least see it on the 3rd page if it was "Starving American truck driver got a banana in China !"
I know its not the same but Turkey is having a difficult time with getting close to EU and we need media to support it as much as they can...

No not really, many don't want them to join EU.
