Lego fans, it's official: Winnipeg will be getting its first Lego store this summer.
The Danish company, known for its colourful interlocking plastic bricks, gears, minifigures and various other parts, is opening a store at the Polo Park Shopping Centre.
No firm opening date has been set yet.
"We just know sometime this summer. It's going to be a perfect time with the little ones out of school," Polo Park general manager Deborah Green told CBC News on Monday.
Green said construction has just started on the 2,000-square-foot store on the mall's upper level, between centre court and the Hudson's Bay store.
Dear god how horrible it would've been to grow up without a nearby LEGO store
Winnipeg? But it's so cold and miserable.

Y'know people focus on the cold, but it gets pretty decently hot in the summer. Has been over 40 celcius (104F) before
I've also had tonnes of lego but I don't know if I've ever been to a store exclusively for lego, we usually just got it from walmart or toys r us or whatever. I wonder what neat stuff they have
Maybe the kiddies can use the Lego to fill all the pot holes.
Even living an hour outside of Winnipeg I always had easy access to lots of Lego, but I imagine if I was still lego age I would be pretty excited.
(Also, Winnipeg isn't miserable, it is actually a rather nice city with exception to a few areas like any other city and our Summer temperatures are some of the hottest in Canada.)

There is no specialized "lego store" here either, lego is sold at other toy shops
The only difference between a lego store and grabbing something at the store are the colorful decorations and some more exclusives sets and promotions.
I can't wait to build a Lego city, and draw inspiration for the roads from this city's very own shit roads.
Cover Brian Bowmans office floor in lego bricks and tell him if he doesn't fix the potholes the lego stays
Oh god, I hate to see the store fall apart. Rip everyone in Winnipeg's foot.
