Boo hoo they're taking steps to better the console :(
The backpedaling never ends.
Back pedaling is when they reverse a statement or try to justify it, but it doesn't actually change anything. What they're doing is actually responding to their criticisms by changing it for the better.

I'll say that they're steps that shouldn't have to be made. It should've been like this from the start, not later in development.
The backpedaling never ends.
Why does everyone complain about Microsoft but then when THEY ACTUALLY LISTEN TO FEEDBACK AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, everyone wants to give them shit for it.
The backpedaling never ends.
god forbid microsoft do anything positive with their console

Fair enough, but would you rather they just not change it at all? I don't like the Xbone any more than the next guy, but why hate them more for trying to make the changes people want?

Only after a massive backlash. You have to wonder what else Microsoft has in store for the future that's still based around their terribly conceived vision.

Yeah obviously but at least it's happening. Better late than never.

I don't hate it, in fact I'm glad they changed it. But it is still irksome that they had it in the first place. But yeah, I'll agree with you that it is bettering the console, despite me still not wanting one.
I approve of the changes but regardless of it; the sheer fact that all the bullshit DRM 'features' were even advertised as such in the first place all but confirmed they don't give much of a shit about gamers anymore and, as a consequence, has pretty much irreparably damaged their credibility, at least where I - as a gamer - am concerned.

Those DRM features were just in place to try and make console gaming more like Steam, while also adding the ability to share the digital games that you've bought with your friends. Except they didn't say that, they just said that they're doing a whole bunch of DRM and people got pissy. It just seems like they came up with a bunch of stupid policies because for some reason they have no idea of how to sell a product god forbid. So now they've done some company reshuffling, and they're changing their policies to be more competitive with Sony. Sony on the other hand has the advantage because one, they actually tried to sell their console, and two, paid attention to the backlash that Microsoft was getting for their ideas and didn't do what they did.

But I thought everyone wanted a console thats shit for everyone but Microsoft itself! :(
Its not backpedaling, they pushed forward with ideas that weren't decided on to see what the consumer base could handle, not finalising anything.
