They are better when they use an extended numpad/numrow, in a sense that they are a more easier to work with.
For one, without software, they work off the bat, already providing standard kvm, with an option of extending functionality with first, or 3rd party utilities.
Having the extra buttons have to roll into place from under the mouse is pretty flawed design.
maybe it's cost effective tactic.
I'm happy with having 12 available from my thumb, without extra toggles controlling extra input necessary
