• Unresponsive Desktop and hanging.

Hello! I got home from class today to find that my desktop was being unresponsive. If I moved the mouse, pixels in the top-left-most corner would change colors randomly, along with tearing and other artifacts. I could open the Task Manager but the mouse clicks were not interacting with the desktop in any way. After restarting my computer, the entire computer hangs every time I do... anything. Be it open Task Manager, open a new tab on chrome, open windows explorer (and change folders). While the hanging is happening, I can min and max these windows over and over until they stop hanging. But every program is having this issue. Games are crashing after a few minutes as well. I have a fairly new 770 from EVGA, but it hasn't cause problems before. I was thinking my mouse-caused artifacts point to a GPU issue, but the rest of the problems seem to point away from my graphics card. Example: I just selected the wrong post icon, so when I changed it to "Gross," chrome hung. While it was hanging, I checked out windows explorer and opened a folder... which resulted in more hanging. [editline]23rd March 2015[/editline] The window of a hanging process moves to my top-left-most corner (much like the pixels).
Sounds like your GPU is at fault. Hardware failure can show in many ways, the artifacting is a dead giveaway though.
Pepper;47383297']Sounds like your GPU is at fault. Hardware failure can show in many ways, the artifacting is a dead giveaway though.
It seems to have recovered. Restarting didn't work. The second time it wouldn't POST. Third time is the charm, it seems to be working fine now. That whole time my fans were running at max too. They're fine now though. I still see crashing in games as I can't play Cities Skylines for more than 10 minutes.
Okay this is strange. Cities:Skylines, CS:GO, and Skyrim causing this. Maybe every fullscreen app?
