I have a 300w supply right now and i want to know whether or not to upgrade my psu as well thanks
Definite, go get a 500W PSU at least, 450 at the minimal
He's fine with his 300w right now, actually. Depends on his 12v, tho. But I'd upgrade. There's a good 500/550W PSU from Cooler Master for 55$. Get it.
link? thanks for the help though [editline]11:29PM[/editline] also are these parts compatible and would they be able to run garrysmod all maxed out?
also are these parts compatible and would they be able to run garrysmod all maxed out?
Yeah, it will run gmod maxed.
thanks im stoked for my new hardware ive been playing on an agp 6600gt 128mb and poop salad amd 1.8ghz processor for a while now and the gpu finally died so im getting a much needed upgraded. ty facepunch
I think the processor might hold you back..you'll want to upgrade that soon. Hell, that means a motherboard upgrade most likely.
what would you recommend for a mobo and cpu then? something cheap plox
Well what's your motherboard?
1st link in OP
Processor is completely fine. 545 is basically a 550. but if you want to i don't see the need though. 550, GIGABYTE 785 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.240747 $152 cheaper than paying $180 for the mobo n cpu or 550, BIOSTAR 795 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.230130 $172 Actually just get one of those Combo deals. Better Mobo and cheaper than what you would be originially paying for a CPU and Mobo($180)
Only buy from Asus or Gigabyte. Never get Biostar.
Biostar isn't bad. It's not Gigabyte or Asus quality but it's decent.
Only buy from Asus or Gigabyte. Never get Biostar.
u dum Biostar is one of the better brands.

That's good. Get this PSU. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139008 nevermind 300w should do you fine unless you want to upgrade to that
