And the small girl has amazing eyebrows. Was nice having an MC whit a bit of a shit personality. I enjoyed this one I ended up dropping this because I found it kinda boring I think? The fact this manga is about music but you can't actually HEAR the music kinda put me off in the end. This would do much better as an anime IMO. It just doesn't do it for me when the characters act all amazed at peoples music performances and yet I just can't feel the same way because, again, I can't hear anything and I can't imagine what it would sound like either. That said it's not bad, but in the end it just didn't jibe with me.
Let's not forget the legend of legends. https://mangadex.org/manga/2251/oretama After a night of drunken revelry, 19-year-old Kouta Satou decides to relieve himself near a seemingly secluded temple. Meanwhile, an angel is attempting to seal the queen of the underworld into a holy ball with his bow. Unfortunately, he misfires, trapping her instead inside of Kouta's unwitting balls. The angel departs, leaving Kouta a dire warning: if he fails to resist ejaculating before the end of the month, the queen will be released and mark the end of the world. For the lustful Kouta, such a commitment is easier said than done; on top of using any means necessary to resist temptation, he must also guard himself from advances made by Elyse, a lesser devil who would resort to drastic measures to free her queen. In Oretama, the fate of the entire world rests upon the improbability of one man's chastity.
Discovered Fumetsu no Anata e. I was not expecting all these feels. I admit I got a bit tearly more than once. Other than that I love the characters in this manga, basically every supporting character is awesome and have great character traits. Or rather, you love it until you realize that all the best supporting characters are guaranteed to die a painful death way before their time Fumetsu no Anata e (Manga)
I think it got real uninteresting when the started talking and they started to draw the curtains on the the mystery behind him. I think there's a much more interesting story to be told if he still had that mystery around him
I have to agree I liked it better before they introduced the whole "you were created to save the world" thing. To me it felt like an editorial choice to go in that direction, ie. "we need an overarching villain so it has more mass appeal."
It's a very typical for those fish out of water type stories The beginning where you explore the world through someone who knows nothing is always interesting, especially in these fantasy type stories, because we are also fish out of water not knowing how the world works, but as you settle down you realize the actual dept of the world you're in and the magic is removed from it.
Recently came across this. https://mangadex.org/manga/22615 A shut-in brother is drugged by his genius scientist little sister in his sleep with a drug that turns him into a friggin cute girl. Keep some insulin on stand-by when reading this.

Isekai Izakaya "Nobu" The entrance to a Japanese bar opens up to another world, people from the fantasy world spilling in, getting a taste of the modern world https://s2.mangadex.org/data/155745d156fbfb1cddded7052a0e6a53/x3.png Gal☆Cleaning! https://mangadex.org/manga/24249/a-story-about-treating-a-female-knight-who-has-never-been-treated-as-a-woman-as-a-woman This manga ticks a lot of boxes for me.
https://mangadex.org/manga/16280/akuma-mo-fumu-o-osoreru-tokoro It's pretty funny.
https://mangadex.org/manga/23825 hhhhhhhhnnnnnnnnnnnngggggg
Mairimashita! Iruma-kun, a manga about a human boy being sold by parents to one of the great demons in hell, who then treats him like a beloved grandson and send him to the demon school. It's a nice comedy/slice of life with an interesting cast and setting. It have overall been an enjoyable read for me and the story is seemingly slowly building toward a climax later on which I am kinda looking forward to it as well.
https://myanimelist.net/manga/5994/Nana_to_Kaoru?q=nana%20to%20 I got a weird rec for you all, a manga about hardcore BDSM! but don't worry, it's only softcore porn! In all seriousness though, it's actually a very sweet lovestory with some excellent character writing, probably one of the best romance manga I've read.
The comments on the site said this series is over? That's upsetting, I was enjoying the absurdity of everything.
MAL says it's finished, but that there's 19 chapters. So there may be a few untranslated chapters floating around, but yea it's done for afaik.
Would Light Novels recommendations also be fine here? I want to know if there's any good LNs that have been translated worth reading.
Make a new thread for that tbh
Black Cat - Two bounty hunters with pasts they'd rather like to leave behind, a criminal organization vying to keep hold on the world, a psychopath wanting nothing but world domination, interesting and varied magics and NANOMACHINES SON. Its moderately sized at 20 volumes, but its a classic and well made manga.
https://mangadex.org/manga/21161/ore-wo-suki-nano-wa-omae-dake-ka-yo Edgy romcom where MC is the "but what if the harem protag wasn't thickheaded". And then tweest upon tweest.
Most of my favorites have already been mentioned in this thread so I'm recommending this collection of short stories: https://mangadex.org/manga/4492/keep-on-vibrating All 7 stories share the same universe and are all ridiculously smutty and dark with the exception of the final story Hardboiled Sakata that serves as a wholesome and cute ending to an otherwise depressing read.
https://mangadex.org/manga/4484/gunnm Also known as Battle Angel Alita. I've recently started reading it and have been absolutely loving it. The art is fucking insanely good and the story is great as well. I'm not really good at giving details but if you want to read about a cyborg girl that kicks ass then this is a good manga for you to check out.
Sora ga Haiiro dagara (Because the Sky is Gray) I believe I've posted about this manga in FA but it's been a while so I kinda want to talk more about this...thing. This manga makes you feel uneasy. It's a collection of short stories about people having issues, big or small. It can be someone with mental issues or simply a daydreaming girl. The events in these stories can range from funny, but mostly dark humor, to sad or outright depressing. Most of the time the story ends on a down note right after something bitter have happened, leaving you with a hopeless feeling. But every now and then there is a genuine funny/heartwarming moment that feel like they're there to keep you going. As you goes on, you start to feel more and more unsure as story with a hopeful start could turn to be an illusion at the end. This manga is bizarre in a way that I can't really describe. I hope more people check this thing out.
https://mangadex.org/manga/501/arakawa-under-the-bridge I've started reading this recently and it's been pretty entertaining. https://mangadex.org/manga/26584/the-story-of-a-girl-with-sanpaku-eyes And if you like incredibly cute things, check this out. There's not much yet but it updates often. WARNING: CUTE
https://mangadex.org/manga/798/yuria-100-shiki If you enjoyed Oretama (my balls) you'll probably enjoy this as well (it's by the same author)
Gonna recommend something a a bit weird and NSFW
Oh my god, I can't believe I forgot about Franken Fran. on another note, if you like bizarre creepy stuff check out anything written and drawn by Junji Ito. I'll post my personal favorite, which is slightly different from his usual fictional works and is just a sort of diary of the author, his wife, and their cats. https://mangadex.org/manga/3229/junji-ito-s-cat-diary-yon-mu
Old Home no Haibane Riding Bean There are also two Cowboy Bebop Manga that you should check out: Cowboy Bebop Shooting Star Bebop
Fran is funny, if not f'ed up. It's like if Tim Burton did another stop-motion film and just went full rated-r dark comedy with gore. Junji Ito on the other hand is all kinds of spoopy. Proper horror with psychological and physical torment throughout.
Cheerful Amnesia (Manga) From Girls in Boxes: Mari's girlfriend, Arisa, loses her memories of the past three years, including all memory of their life together. However, it turns out that being crazy in love with someone transcends all realms of possibility.
