First time I've been this hyped for HEALTH. Everything they've shown has been fantastic
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkK6GT4pkbU y'all ready for weird xiu again?
I'm hype for anything Xiu Xiu makes, let's do this
i think spotify just called me a hipster https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/235717/e07c1057-e847-407a-b22b-839ee76f7935/Capture2.JPG

After months of going crazy trying to figure out what this song was, it randomly came up on my iTunes shuffle. Turns out it was from some demo tape from 2014, which explains why I was having so much trouble finding the song. Also looks like the band released a full album at some point. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeRoSTIIyng
i'm still in awe over how much of a beautiful clusterfuck this song is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2Vwn3pxUPg
That album cover is so disgusting I can almost taste it. I love it.

God he's old now isn't he
I mean he's 71 and still touring lol, not too many doing that considering his prior lifestyle and the chaos of his performances when he was younger. His hips and or knees are definitely fucked if that performance is anything to go by; he can barely stand at times it seems. Tough fucker that's for sure. If you haven't listened to it already, give his 2016 album "Post Pop Depression" a listen, it's terrific

May as well post my review of 2018 now. Don't think there's anything notable coming out the rest of the month. Top Albums The Joy Formidable - Aaarth Metric - Art Of Doubt Slothrust - The Pact Estrons - You Say I'm Too Much, I Say You're Not Enough Screaming Females - All at Once Death Cab for Cutie - Thank You for Today Marmozets - Knowing What You Know Now The Pineapple Thief - Dissolution SONOIO - Fine AWOLNATION - Here Come the Runts 2018 is the year of the female vocalist apparently. My top 5 are all female led bands, and Marmozets adds another one to the top 10. I often do prefer female vocalists but I don't think I've ever seen a year where I've ranked so many so high. Had difficulty with those last few spots, Jeff Rosenstock and Teenage Wrist came very close to making the top 10. Top Songs (that aren't on any of those albums) Electric Elephants - Shine Love Glow Mellowdrone - Pascal's Wager The Ting Tings - Estranged Cathedrals - Hits Me Like a Landslide The Smashing Pumpkins - Solara Rich Aucoin - Release Mounties - Canoe Song Arcane Roots - Landslide ROMES - Out of It Joywave - Blastoffff Cool things that happened this year Weezer covered a couple of Toto songs. 311 and The Offspring covered each other. Smashing Pumpkins put out an album. HEALTH and Perturbator did a song together. Most Disappointing Album Mae - Multisensory Aesthetic Experience. - It's been forever since Mae put out new music and they got me all excited when the first single came out and it was good. Rest of the album was really boring, lame songs though.

The middle eight of this has been giving me and intense deja vu since it came out, and I just realised that's because it sounds like the chorus of blow me away by breaking benjamin lmao
holy shit reset panda is a mod! congratz man
my aoty 2018 https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/57909/ed9a07a6-31f8-489f-a5ad-b401e4b4e97e/topsters2.png
it has been a sick music for year imho
considering it spawned what can easily be my album of the decade, it's definitely been a damn good year
Dindt really listrn to a whole lot of new music this year, really disappointed in myself about that. Top albums from what i did hear are idles - joy and polyphia - new levels new devils
super hyped for HEALTH why can't it be this month ;_;
the elizabeth powell/hayley williams tracks for the new american football have (already) leaked me with new soen & cherry glazerr
slowdive then war on drugs... what a gig, great energy. already seen both but war on drugs this time around really put together a great setlist this time. sometimes a great setlist can make a gig such a unique experience on top of seeing them in the flesh. i've got the habit of putting collections of songs based on the live order... really worth doing and makes it more memorable.
@Ashtiel what the fuck you also listen to glazerr? i thought she was relatively unknown
yeah apocalipstick was one of my favorites of last year, though "had ten dollaz" is the first i really heard from the band through discover weekly. clementine creevy also did that absolute banger of a feature on "giving bad people good ideas" and it's shameful less people don't know about the band
had ten dollaz is underrated as hell yeah also, creevy is an absolute queen

While I think it's certainly not the best album of the year (I'm still not sure what I consider for that slot tbh) but I already know my favorite album of the year, by far is Andrew W.K.'s You're Not Alone, I wouldn't still be here without it frankly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygWKEQrJ1cE
