I really like that new Cherry Glazerr album. Also the Quiet Company EP is great.

Was scrolling through Jack Stauber's stuff and came across https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPQNn6XY6K4 Anyone know any artists that make music that's kinda like the first minute? Shit bops around :25 imo
new ladytron album was released a few weeks early (15th) from pledgemusic backers, damn good stuff.
New Charly Bliss video/song, new album coming in May https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3yayHHmUxs I think I like it? It's VERY poppy, whereas I prefer their rock-ier stuff. Wonder what the rest of the album will be like.
new HEALTH album is really something. the singles (aside from "STRANGE DAYS (1999)"), to me at least, are probably some of the more tame tracks on the album. there's some of that catchy/pop sound that was made more apparent on DEATH MAGIC but it's also a lot more...unpredictable like older material to some extent? there's definitely some rock and even trap beats in a few of these songs. it's definitely something that needs an attentive listen or you're gonna easily lose track in the midst of the chaos.
new Marvin Gaye album has been unearthed. It was always there but nobody bothered to release it. Pre-ordered the vinyl. If the album has this calibre of tracks then I'm gonna be so happy this year https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVMYjgXy3EA
How the fuck do you lose the bloody follow-up to "What's Going On?" of all albums. Super excited for this of course, but it just boggles my mind.
NEW HEALTH also holy shit this record is incredible
KING GIZZARD COMING TO TORONTO BAYBEEEEEEEEEEEEEE (soon)
I don't post here much, but I just wanted to say that yesterday, the 7th, was the birthday of both Nujabes and J Dilla. Both have since died fairly young, but left behind some incredible music. It's been a while since I listened to their music, but I was reminded of their anniversary and got a bit nostalgic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoQ2dq_V_oQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2DrarHpLrE
"PSYCHONAUT" and "RAT WARS" are early favorites for me.
NC-17 must sound absolutely ridiculous on a good speaker system, goddamn I'm afraid my car will explode if I play it on full blast. Its hard to pick out a favorite when the whole album is just incredible. Maybe Black Static?
it is all down to bad storage of tape. back then i wouldn't be surprised if it was dozens of tape to find and go through. according to them, it is genuinely a complete album. i am only hoping it is faithful to a marvin gaye production. the original mix of what's going on was VERY different to the final cut, it was originally very bare bones. and what is weird is that for some dumb reason the cut i was used to and listened to a dozen times was not the final cut .. then i heard the actual release and was pissed at what i missed production can change the entire heart of a record
Ya that's true, I mean just a few months back some random producer found an entire tape or record of super early David Bowie stuff and he seemingly has the only copy in existence. If I recall correctly, he was using the container it was stored in to prop something up in his garage? Similar thing happened with many older films; and like tons of the BBC's earlier productions(most notoriously Doctor Who)... Also, in regards to the pre-order "remix" track, it honestly doesn't sound too far off from the stuff on "What's Going On", and it's supposedly a remix of a song on the album, so I have pretty high hopes for You're the Man. This track here I mean: https://open.spotify.com/track/6SzSYXTBsqsv1hIPGUHWkL

here's the mix i was used to in my first few months of discovering what's going on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ve6XWG_frwk sounds nothing like the actual release production-wise, the whole record was like this, still good obviously.
Haha that's bizarre. Like you said, it still sounds great, but after having listened to the original mix all this time, it just sounds so much different that it's kinda jarring to my ears lol.

grammys happening... no idea who will get album of the year this time.. hoping Janelle Monae but will probably be Kacey Musgraves. Either would be a great choice.
Was so hoping for Janelle to take album of the year
janelle is great. she has come a long way from archandroid. even though that is still my favourite of hers, she has really grown as an artist and really tightened on what she wants to do with her music. she is also ridiculously good live.
cant believe daytona didnt win best rap album
to be fair, they couldn't give ye that title. that'd be completely unfair on the rest of the music industry when ye is god
Grammys have always been meaningless outside of popularity contests. Its interesting to see the nominees and winners mostly as an insight into the committee itself.
oh yeah, the grammys happened https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoFJkNhr8XQ

this tweet is pure gold, oh man, thank you I'm stealing this also, wait, does that mean that elevator music is the real winner of the grammys?
