cool got some stuff to listen to on the drive home from work then. listened to the new national album on the way in. aside from a couple singles and a few tracks i find it very underwhelming.

Never heard till growl so much, conveys a lot of emotion when the song is taken into context. Also really like Auslander even though people are slagging it for being europop, but sehnsucht sounded almost entirely europop, that's what I loved about it.

Just saw Show Me The Body in Cambridge last night, small ass venue and a shitton of tiny Bandcamp metal bands opened and now I feel like a pile of shit and bones and it hurts to breathe lmao Got to crowdsurf for the first time which was fucking crazy

if y'all told me in 2011 that carly rae jepsen was gonna deadass drop two killer albums in this decade, i wouldn't have believed you but damn she followed up one killer album with another

this has been three weeks of constant great albums, what the hell is this, over a dozen albums i've gotten to listen to fully that have just been incredible or at least very enjoyable

the new mac demarco album has a couple of great songs but the rest are just fucking lazy. like the title track isn't a half finished song, its literally just one musical phrase repeated with no variation with the same line "here comes the cowboy" repeated throughout. nobody is such an interesting song it makes no sense why he put so much writing and production effort into it but the other songs come off as super lazy song writing.

I might be late with this and honestly recently gave more attention to Jack White as a musician. His last album Boarding House Reach is quite something and I have been obsessing over it for the past 2 weeks. This is really some unique and groovy music. It's also nice trying to find all the influences in his music, many songs feel very inspired by other artists.
