if we're lucky, we will one day.
I've been saying this for years and people have told me I'm just a hipster, but as someone who grew up watching actual eighties movies on VHS I find it kind of a fucking insult to filmmakers of that era when everyone just goes "HOO WOO YEAH EIGHTIES WAS JUST NEON AND MACHO BAD GUYS, IT WAS ALL OVER THE TOP MACHO STUPIDITY, IT WAS GREAT" and I'm like... uegh.
I literally had someone try to tell me The Predator was a good movie because "it's like a dumb 80's movie". The worst part is, this was a dude who was in his late 30's (and thus totally grew up on 80's movies) who also considered himself a cinephile. Fucking ugh.
I think I'd have fed that guy his own shoes. Predator is a genuinely smart film. When you get past the early segments with the merc boys doing OORAH shit it becomes genuinely sinister.
i honestly enjoyed the predator movie because of how absolutely fucking dumb it was. i enjoy any movie that weaponizes autism
I like synthwave, I like neon, and I like when a movie uses those aspects to make a good film, but as someone who didn't grow up with the 80s and doesn't have any nostalgia for it I don't really enjoy films that try to be 80s. Specifically when I think of that kinda stuff I think of the original Blade Runner, that's a film that almost feels timeless yet it uses those things so well. That's why I loved the new Blade Runner too because it makes use of those aspects (although the soundtrack leaves a bit to be desired, even if it was fine).
I honestly think I would have liked it a lot more if I went to like a 9pm screening while drunk, rather than the sparsely populated opening-day matinee I caught it at

Can they please tune their release cycle to my working hours?
Mike almost doing a spit take right after Jack almost doing a spit take might be one of my favorite RLM moments.
When was that? I must've missed it
18 minutes, when the pun meter goes berserk.
such beastly puns
Is it just me or does their lighting look really bad on their set in this episode.
Might just be you, it didn’t look all that different to me.
I had a pun with "silver lining" but it's for the best I don't.

Is the audio when they play the Re-Animator theme super compressed or is it just me?
Prolly direct form vhs
I was watching the BotW episode with Geteven and I suddenly realized: I've seen someone use John DeHart's mic technique years ago. Okay, the dude moved back to front rather than side to side but I can tell you from experience that there's no faster way to completely sink your performance. Well, that and the fact that all the members who played a stringed instrument were complete fucking morons but that aside.

Stop moving threads around for Rich's sake...
Because all of their programs are basically television shows, but on YouTube. The subject matter isn't what determines what type of media it is.
We don't need a trifurcated media forum to begin with.
Wait, this thread is back? I thought it disappeared for a while.
For some reason, a truck had this exact Rich Evans face on it as bumper sticker https://i.imgur.com/2yU8d8z.png If I wasn't traveling down the freeway, I would have snapped a picture of it. It was a raised, white Ford F150 and this sticker was stuck just above the tail gate handle.
I don't see what's so puzzling. It is not rare for americans to use bumper stickers as means of celebration of religious figures.
I was just looking for this thread. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5ZchzyDPJw
Remember Boba Fett!?
I love that quip about how they had a billion TV shows and spinoffs planned, but they all got cancelled after just ONE of them flopped.
