rewatching old RLM episodes gave me a lot more appreciation for josh and jack
there's so many good jokes, or funny angles to the discussion, that my memory ascribed to mike and jay but turns out, came from them
I've always believed that the hate/unrecognition they get is just the same as the whole "rlm are hack frauds" and "rich evans is a pitiable person" thing. We're just too insecure to say how much we really love those guys.
Honestly the Jay and Josh re:views are some of the best.
I like Jack more Josh but I've never disliked either of them
Josh is great because he looks and acts a lot like my big brother and it makes the show feel real cozy.
I think it's just because every newly-seen RLM member has to earn their place.
When Half in the Bag started I was like "Oh cool it's the Plinkett Review guy, but who's this other random dude with him? Who cares"
Rich Evans was fine because they hyped him up on HitB, maybe he was a guest once or twice too, so having him in BotW was like unlocking the secret character.
But then Jack and Josh and others showed up and we were all like "Who tf these people?"
I remember, the first time they did a BotW without Mike I was like "oof, not sure if I'm gonna watch this one"
I love Josh because his laugh is almost on par with Rich's for how amazing it is.
And Jack because when he comes in with a funny soundbit, he NAILS it, like when Rich called a whoopie cushion a fart bag.

That shot in The Thing where the head's silhouette starts growing spider legs and the two antennae still freaks me the fuck out.
I love that gag early in HITB when it starts with Jay and Rich and they go "They want to see Mike and the other guy, not the other guy and an other guy!" because, sure enough, at that point I did want exactly that. Now, of course, I'd be more than happy to watch a Jay and Rich episode.

tl;dw:
they found themselves kept talking about the same stories and opinions over and over again so they are ending the entire thing (streams and youtube videos) before pre-rec gets stuck in a stale loop that no one likes.
That's weird, I mean, I can't say I ever watched the streams, and rarely watched Pre-rec, but if I got any reasonable amount of money and enjoyment out of streaming and talking about games, I'd do it for as long as that holds out.
But if they AREN'T enjoying it and don't see that changing or improving, then I guess that's a fine choice.
