It's mainly just doomsday prep is Garry pulls the plug. See the drama going on in general and whatnot.

Been rewatching the original 2005 series. Midway through S3 so far. Notes: Slitheen are scarier than I remember, and more serious despite the farting. Not as bad. S1 was way darker than I remember and honestly better overall than I recalled The Satellite Five/Game Station episodes are honestly fucking bleak. So bleak I'm surprised the BBC signed off on them. They're Dredd levels of dark in some parts. Gridlock owns bones. Really fucking cool sci-fi setting and really fucking cool plot, especially since there was no Grand Villain Doing Evil Shit and it was just all happenstance. New Earth is atrocious and I honestly think it's one of the least-discussed worst episodes of S2.

I may just be someone stuck in the past but the real early days have some of my fave episodes ever, Dalek and The Impossible Planet two-parter.

On this day, 9 years ago I posted on Facebook 'Spitfires in Space!' So I guess that's when "A Good Man Goes to War" aired.

I'm at the Sontaran two-parter at the mo'. God I love Wilf. I also love how UNIT in these episodes are actually a super-effective XCOM-style force and actually capable of stopping shit rather than getting slaughtered to show Just How Bad Them Villains Is.
