I've had a Bullet Strat before and it really was garbage, I had base level Harley Benton from 2011 and it was about the same quality, and Harley Benton from 2016 or so absolutely beats the shit out of those low level Squier instruments for less money, it's amazing. It's just a shame that the Jazz copy that I had from them had a baseball bat for a neck and weighed as much as an aircraft carrier. It sounded great but the ergonomics were awful. I also had a Les Paul copy that was nothing but good, it sounded and played amazing, and the neck joint was a piece of art and beat the shit out of any Gibson (I'm dead serious). I don't get along with tuneomatic bridges though, which is why I'm looking for something more strat based.
Come to think of it though, I found out that I'll be getting a bonus from work in a few months time, so I should probably get a cab of some sort for my Marshall 2195 before doing anything else, I've been wanting a cab for that thing for ages because I've never played it through anything good. I never managed to gig it when I was in my last band as there was always something better supplied (like an Orange or a tube Marshall) and the cab at the practice space we had was something. No idea what, or how old it was, but I'd like to try this thing through something nice sounding like one of the Celestion loaded Harley Benton cabs (or probably even one of the ones with their own speakers) to see what it can really do. It's super spanky clean though, which is a down side for someone like me that likes to play rock and metal, but a good pedal should sort me out for that (I'm not entirely sure that my Donner Morpher will do the job, but that's yet to be decided)
I posted a thread about it a while ago and there was some interest, so I'd mention it again now that it's in a more usable state:
I've been making a site for creating quick guitar tabs, it's not like professional tab software but it's (hopefully) faster and nicer looking than plain text tabs. It also has the ability to publish a tab so you can send the link to friends or whatever, and you can then export it to plain text too if you want.
Anyway the site is: https://www.tabbin.com. It would be cool to see what people think.
Some of the functionality isn't totally obvious but there's a help button to explain the basics and you can look at the example tab too.
that's pretty baller, one thing I've always hated was having to manually tab out in plain text and this is so much easier it's unreal.
maybe it's just for me at the moment but on the help screen it says that the buttons are coloured but they're just white on the blue background? no big deal though because the explanation is still good enough that you can figure out which one does what
I play a mint, cream, 1984 Greco RR65. Shits absolutely godly.
