1000 years after Discovery, that's a long time. and it seems to be either The discovery itself, or there's a third crossfield we don't know about
It says Discovery on the hull
ok, I was trying to freezeframe and see if it did, I did a shitty job, lol
That version of "Into the Pines" is stuck in my head, and I can't seem to find it anywhere :/
Jumping back to this, I saw a great theory, the reason her makeup is so...bony in that left shot is because she is malnourished, at that point in the story they were stranded for 6 months and were very low on food. If you look at shots of her from episodes 1 and 2 she doesn't look like that, nor does she look like that after Episode 4.
Same prosthesis in those earlier shots, I think, and either the lighting was designed to highlight her boneyness, or they added more shade coloration to bring it out. Also, they may have upgraded after the initial episodes, because that first picture is terrible. They probably have been going back to the drawing board every clump of episodes after criticism comes in.

Everyday we stray further from Roddenberry's light
It's co-created by the guy behind the TNG Season 8 twitter and published book. He also worked on 'Rick and Morty' and did the upcoming 'Mudd' Short Trek.
tbh I think Roddenberry would be happy to welcome the steady cash flow comin' in from these new trek shows
I'm paraphrasing from a Ira Behr story about Risa, "I want to see men kissing men, I want to see women kissing women, skin everywhere, orgies in the background!"
Someone called me a 'Star Wars' fan for not minding the idea.
I know we haven't seen anything for the animated trek series. But what little information we have about it makes me look forward to it.
If they have the original Star Trek animation look to it, I'm on board. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-EoyUtdLdc
John Eaves has been showing off his concept art for the Discovery Enterprise. https://youtu.be/_cdS0pz4ZWM Something about her proportions feels right, like it mimics the balanced layout of the original design. This is apparently a design Eaves is working with Ira Behr on for the DS9 documentary.
Yes the Doc tweeted it out last week and the week before.
Roddenberry thought everybody would spend their off shift time reading Shakespeare and building wooden ships. if they can do a show where they actually flesh out the below decks and the off shift life better then that's great. this however looks quite a lot like what seth mcfarlane pitched them for the orville originally though before taking it back to fox. Not sure animated is and on an exclusive streaming service is good but it does give them flexibility I suppose.

I didn't know there were Klingons who cared for Human classical music.
Some shot's of STO's version of the Battle at the Binary Stars They don't have all the Klingon ships in game yet, which is why there isn't a ton a variety on that side. The only Fed ship they're missing is the Hoover Class. There is even a line in the briefing saying the historical data is 'incomplete' to explain why, heh. https://imgur.com/a/RqTmYC9 https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/108621/bf990bc6-6200-4f34-bf40-c1791a3df408/image.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/108621/aeef541c-147b-4ad1-894e-da676062bb74/image.png
New season 2 commercial More Action, More Asteroids, and More Spock in New STAR TREK
Met LeVar Burton tonight. As part of a public reading tour he has going on, he was doing a reading of Driftglass by Samuel Delany (who was also there) tonight at the venue my mom works at (the same place Joe Biden actually did a luncheon at a few weeks ago) and staff got free ins to the VIP meet and greet afterwards. Got him to sign my TNG cartridge~ https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/198768/9d5c3093-5cf9-41b4-955c-04d35b9fdd4e/image.png Whole family got photos with him. My dad also got a signing of a 25-year-old Geordi action figure he's still got sealed in-box. (I am also just as terrified as you at how my face looks in that pic. Chalk it up to the harsh stage lighting.)
CBS plans on filing a dismissal against that game creator suing them https://www.scribd.com/document/395005714/Abdin-v-CBS-Broadcasting-Inc-Et-Al-Nysdce-18-07543-0034-0 I'm not lawyer, but they seem to have very solid grounds against him.
it sounds better in the original Klingon.
https://trekmovie.com/2018/12/10/alex-kurtzman-star-trek-picard-series-will-be-extremely-different-from-discovery/
“Without revealing too much about it, people have so many questions about Picard and what happened to him, and the idea we get to take time to answer those questions in the wake of the many, many things he’s had to deal with in Next Gen is really exciting.” Tending a vineyard will do strange things to man.
With Kurtzman involved, should we expect tedious religious allegory, or is that tendency down to one of his usual co-conspirators like Orci.
Orci is the crazy one. He's also a conspiracy theorist.
I just hope they go with some sleek updated TNG era aesthetics. It still the best looking trek some 20~ years later
