3 LEGO set numbers for Spiderman: Far From Home were leaked, and the leakers also found the antagonists in each set: 76128 - Molten Man 76129 - Hydro Man 76130 - Mysterio
I'd love for deadpool 3 to star with him at like a construction site talking about cameos and in the background the avengers are fighting all sorts of stuff but he's like totally unaware of it and basically starts rambling about how its not in the budget to have them appear.
Chloe Zhao to Direct Marvel Studios' 'The Eternals' | Hollywood ..
That'll likely be easier to do considering shit like the helicarrier from the end of DP1.
Speaking of I really so hope Marvel decides to recast J.K Simmons as J Jonah Jameson. No better portrayal of the character can be achieved imo. https://youtu.be/mhDBWiTfNCU
So is Jake Gyllenhaal confirmed yet?
I hope so, not just cause he’s a great actor, but it would make rewatching Zodiac a little more amusing
So it looks like that one 4chan leak regarding the Sinister Six being Mysterio, Hydo-Man, Molten Man, Scorpion, someone else whom I can't recall, and a Spider-Slayer (who is killed by Vulture, who takes his place) was accurate. Kind of a bummer tbh, I would have loved to see one of the more classic S6 line-ups, possibly doing what Spectacular did and tying in the Black Suit/Master Planner arcs. Because Master Planner would be fucking AMAZING if done properly.
Hadn't heard about that leak. If that's the case, then Marvel really is serious about not using any villains in the new trilogy that have already been done in the previous two continuities. Is a shame, cause I would have loved to see comic accurate versions of Sandman and Rhino teaming up with their already amazing Vulture. Sandman could have been decent in SM3 if a bunch of his scenes weren't cut and he wasn't forced by Sony into an out-of-character teamup with Venom, but alas, that was not to be. (and we still would have had the terrible Uncle Ben retcon, so yeah). And what a massive joke TASM2's Rhino was.
I feel like Spider-Man is literally the only superhero with that problem for some unknown reason. Superman movies have no problem with throwing Lex Luthor and General Zod at us. Batman always gets to fight Joker, Two-Face, and Catwoman. So why are they so worried about having Spider-Man go up against Doc Ock and Green Goblin? I know Dafoe and Molina are both brilliant, but is it really that intimidating to think of the comparisons people will make between the two? Same with J. Jonah Jameson; yeah, we get it, JK Simmons was iconic, but he's an important part of Spidey's supporting cast, so not including him because "oh, we don't wanna compare ourselves to the old movie" will instead leave you with a big Jameson-shaped hole instead. People are already comparing it to past movies, they're all Spider-Man movies. The comparison is inevitable. I just wish Disney/Sony would understand this. Like, "oh, we're using fucking Molten Man in Far From Home and setting it in Europe because we don't want to draw comparisons to older Spider-Man movies, but get ready for MCU X-Men when fucking LOGAN AND DEADPOOL are still on everyone's minds!" It just makes no sense to me.
If Sony’s delusions are to be believed, they still think they’re going to have full rights to Spider-man back after their film deal with Disney is completed, so they probably want to save the best villains for their own use.
I honestly wouldn't be shocked if that were true, considering how Amy Pascal and the rest of them appear to live in their own little world.
Honestly after having time to really digest Homecoming ive found it to be really lackluster and kind of not all that good a portrayal of Spider-Man. Theres no real drama, the consequences when he fucks up are either really small (losing the suit) , immediately dont matter (him ditching the team in DC has literally no effect on them winning and they're not mad at him, iron man saves his ass when he fucks up on the boat, liz isnt angry at him at all for ditching her) or are treated as gags (Aunt May learning he's Spider-Man), the only real time in the whole movie when he's shown going through something thats more than just a mild, temporary inconvienence or humiliation is the finale where they recreate The Final Chapter. The Raimi films are beloved for a lot of reasons, and they're not 1:1, but Raimi really got Spider-Man, he was a fun bombastic hero but he also had a lot of severe personal and social problems that made his life difficult and that was expertly displayed. It also really doesnt help that they've exorcised pretty much his entire supporting cast and he barely interacts with anyone besides Ganke, Tony, Liz, and Vulture throughout the movie. Its still a good movie, way better than both TASM films, and Tom Holland is a really good fit, the personality is on point, but the actual movie surrounding him really doesnt feel like Spider-Man. Its like Spider-Man got lost in somebody elses movie. And now they're taking him out of New York, which i mean come on, sure most of the other Marvel heroes you can take out of NYC but Spider-Man is tailored specifically for New York, his powers and equipment are designed specifically to work in that environment, thats where the Bugle is and where it has the most effect, etc. Them being different just to be different is kind of a poor direction. It'll probably still be good, but.
Equally disappointing is the fact that they could have finally had a TV crossover beginning with Daredevil in Spider Man. Marvel needs to stop rimming our assholes with the TV shows. Either separate them completely or actually bring them in. Stop using the big green monster schtick every season.
it would be great if they stopped doing this and allude to it "word around town that there's some new kid who can sling webs taking down crime" "spider-man? you mean spider-man? the one that saved like hundreds of lives the other day with tony stark? that guy?"
Honestly, the only TV shows that are 100% gonna be canon are the Disney Streaming Service ones which will be the "Clone Wars" of Marvel. Think of Netflix/AoS as classic SWEU before the prequels nullified most of it. Theyre based on Feiges work but not 100% approved by him, similar to Lucas approval vs the batshittery that occurs in the EU. No Feige, no MCU, no matter what Loeb, showrunners or actors say What the streaming shows need is to not be afraid to dip into darker themes and introduce new characters to cement them as the quintessential MCU expansion Shit, that's a damn good summarisation of the problems in HC. I hope that by the time Petes in college they let Marvel introduce the classic supporting cast, kinda like a soft reboot on MCU Spidey. Though college Pete will only happen if Sony allows it
Homecoming was saved simply by how likable Peter and by effect Tom Holland are. The actual setting and plot details are alright and in some cases contrary to the character.
I always wondered why the six people who worked on the screenplay didn't win any awards. You would think the "Penis Parker" line alone would be worth something.
Oh please, they just stole that line from this YouTube Poop and we all know it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KD0vmaIUTLI
if anything has to be said about villians in movies is that its less about who they pick and more about they write them out and how they make them work in context. case in point being leto's joker.
It's entirely an encapsulated presentation of post millenial marvel super heroics in general. All the bants, earnest feet shuffling, lots of fluff problems and the very looming and omnipresent fact there will never be gravitas-based charcaterization stakes or permanent consequences for having abilities, especially at the expense of comedy, sound/video bites or trailertastic scene breakdowns. Homecoming is the absolutely perfect and utterly succinct contemporary social media superhero movie. There's substance and a shit ton of work there, but it's buried under a monolithic glaze of manufactured smarm.
An interesting tweak to my opinion of Homecoming came this week after playing the PS4 Spider-man game. In the proper web-slinging mood, I thought I'd like to watch a Spider-man movie. My mind immediately went to Homecoming, since it was held as the current, most well-regarded Spider-man film in my head, but I also immediately rejected it, because it suddenly just didn't feel like Spider-man. Incidentally, I ended up watching the first 30 minutes of Spider-man 3 because it was on Netflix, before turning it off and just going back to the game.
Not to sound like a broken record, but if you're looking for something to watch that is ideal, top-of-the-line, farm to table Spider-Man, definitely check out Spectacular Spider-Man. The art style can take a bit of getting used to, but it's the perfect adaptation of the character as far as I'm concerned.
Some small spoilers for A4 I guess Some pics of Cap's suit leaked. https://twitter.com/DCMarvelUnite/status/1044597395219111936?s=19 We're finally getting the scale costume.
Sean Gunn is saying GotG 3 is still on the table for Disney, and for now will use James' script. They just don't know when the movie will be made.
Guardians 2 was pretty dookie for me, so I'm not too upset at the news.
The fact that they're using Gunn's script bodes well from a quality standpoint, but I'm still not seeing it. I'll watch it eventually, might even enjoy it, but I'll be damned if I give them a cent for it after the horseshit they pulled.
And more A4 character pics/renders were leaked, albeit most (literally) blurry. https://imgur.com/a/dFn5obT God I love that WM design.
Looks like Iron Man is going back to the clunkier design. I guess the Mk 50 can't stand up to sheer strength then, given it's light enough to carry in an arc reactor sized container.
Is that last picture Ronin?
