Marvel Cinematic Universe thread: Worse numbering than IMs suits edition

In my case it was the fact that the other Marvel Netflix offerings didn't compel me to keep my subscription. I definitely intend to get around to Daredevil S3 when I have more time, though (maybe in spring when they add Evangelion).
I stopped watching after The Defenders, because "the hand" plotline kind of killed all momentum for me (I didn't particularly enjoy DD S2 and JJ S1 either)
I wanted to check out Luke Cage S2 at some later point (enjoyed the first season), but then it got cancelled - while the whole Netflix thing was falling apart, starting to watch DD S3 seemed like a waste of time
After watching The Punisher I developed a strict "Enough with Marvel's Netflix TV Series", but I decided to bother with the third season of Daredevil 'cause the Hand was defeated already and D'Onofrio Kingpin takes the central stage again
Except that's not the reason, and the drop wasn't that hard either, from the people I talked to, what you're talking about is people mentioning the show on twitter and facebook, which aren't even kind of an accurate barometer, as we can see from Adam Sandler getting another four movie deal, and Broken Angels Book I, part I, the begunning or whatever they end up calling it
The reason is Netflix has changed their Original Series format universally, even for animated and sketch half hour shows, and Marvel TV resisted this emphatically in addition to requesting larger budgets per season at their original run count, in addition to actively having issues over content and pre-production.
On the other side, Netflix is moving directly into owning or co-owning the vast majority of their non-movie content to financially brace for the inevitable streaming war bullshit, and Marvel TV is basically a two party payout venue.
Lastly, both department heads are known for being contentious and blunt about their respective wants and aims, and this lead to bad blood on both sides, culminating in Luke Cage being canceled despite having paid for half the next season's scripts already, and Daredevil having already signed D'nofrio and Cox to further work and then cancelling the thing they would have been in.
tldr, both sides are being assholes and the ones bearing are staff and fans.
Same thing here, except I liked JJ S1, and while the The Hand storyline had me frustrated, Iron Fist is what put me off completely. Couldn't even bother with the defenders after that
I'm not sure if it goes exactly in here
Spider-Verse end credit spoilers
That's the best after credits scene ever. About near busted a gut.
That is freaking hilarious.

New trailer tomorrow night. The interesting thing is that there were a lot of rumors that we would get a Captain Marvel trailer tomorrow night and an Avengers 4 trailer on Wednesday. The first half of those rumors were seemingly correct, so hopefully the second half will be as well.
Since when are Marvel movies and Monday Night Football something that's worth any sort of connection?
Disney's massive conglomerate on just about everything including the sun, and ESPN isn't doing well financially.

I don't know if the secret bigot is saying this, but the "her" changing to "hero" is too cheesy even for me.
Just as bad as the first trailer imo. Don't have high hopes for this for movie.
I dunno, i think it’s a step up from the first trailer, but I do think the marketing is still relying too much on how Captain Marvel is a physically strong, female hero rather than showing her having a personality. Though, seeing Nick Fury fawn over a kitty is too good
I like the 1990s Quinjet
The "skrulls can turn into anyone" aspect is by far the most interesting bit about this movie. Why aren't they playing it up more? Is that comically bad scene with the grandma the best they have?
The focus on the space shit is wonky, reminds me of forget-as-soon-as-they're-out movies like Jupiter Ascending or Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets
There's no real reveal moment to show we're dealing with 90s Nick Fury, either, he's just there. You'd think it's a "look at what we did" type of thing, took me a while to notice
Yaaaaawn

2012 was 30 years ago
looks very very formulaic
I'm thinking most of the non-action scenes are spoiler heavy so they're not showing it in the trailers.
I don't see any of the issues you people have.
Looks slightly better than the first trailer (especially the Skrulls, which I'm excited to see), but I'd still be lying if I said my interest in this movie extended to literally anything other than its relation to Avengers 4.
It's like Iron Man 2, this is the salad course before the meal we actually want to eat comes out. Only things I'm actually interested in are the 90's aesthetic (since Iron Man 3 pulled it off in a really fun way) and the potential for Super Skrull to show up in some capacity, since Disney has the F4 back now.
I believe they did it back in the first trailer.

then again, chances are the entire movie will get stolen by Samuel L Jackson's performance.
I kind of agree, the trailers have mostly been underwhelming so far. Usually the protagonist is the focus of the entire movie, but here it's like they're consciously trying to make her look boring.
I have a feeling it has something to do with plot twists, seeing as how little Jude Law is seen in promotional material, and they don't want to announce who exactly is he playing (though I saw a headline about his "character being revealed SPOILERS")
Word on the street re: Netflix shows

Netflix wanted to chop seasons in half, Marvel didn't want to.
A lot of the Netflix shows would have benefited from being shorter
goes without saying that netflix knew what they were talking about
I am so shocked right now, you can't see it but this is totally my shocked face.
Here's a representation.
