I mean, what else would a movie featuring Mysterio be about? It's either that or him pretending he's an actual sorcerer to hide his technology-based powers. I'm just happy the movie looks like it's going to adapt him so faithfully. I will bet you that Sony's Mysterio in their canceled Sinister Six movie wouldn't have had the helmet OR the cape. And more importantly, he would have been fighting dinosuars WITH Spiderman in the Savage Land. Lets be thankful that inevitable trainwreck never came to be.
I mean we all knew that Spiderman was going to come back, but still, way to take all the tension out of Endgame from the get-go.
At least they didn't have them comment on Iron Man and Thor's status. "Yeah remember that heroic sacrifice?"
Not really, like you said, we know they're coming back. I'd rather have real tension of not knowing how than the fake tension of pretending they won't
Well, deaths being plot devices is a staple in comics, right? I don't think you can faithfully adapt these universes with events like Infinity War without sooner or later starting to revive characters. I kind of approach it the same way I approach unrealistic physics in action films like Fast & Furious - it's part of the genre
It was obvious that Spider-Man was going to survive Endgame, of course. It's that Fury also survived that's at least a little bit spoilery in my eyes. At least Tony wasn't in the trailer, that would've just been a shit sandwich.
how
Take a guess.
This spoiler discussion made me think: why didn't Marvel just release CM and Endgame for 2019? Did they have to do FFH for contract reasons? Or because they thought people would think the MCU would end with Endgame?
Because they're doing 3 movies a year now and they need to keep their stories going.
I also have to assume that Sony wanted another big Spider-Man release sooner rather than later.
I have a feeling Sony mostly lets them do their thing
I mean, they both got snapped, so I don't see how Endgame could undo one without undoing both.
You never know what's going to happen in the movie after the un-snappening. I can see some old timers like Jackson biting it while they bow out, but I guess with Captain Marvel, Fury's time in the MCU is getting a second wind.
Ness is Sans?
Sharon Carter maybe?
Something I like that people have probably already noticed in the MCU is how an infinity stone wielder's eye colour is changed to that of the stone
Until I've seen Endgame I'm just going to pretend that's exactly what it is. Even though it's obvious Spiderman and Black Panther among others are going to get unsnapped, it still sucks that they don't even pretend they actually died.
The movie itself was announced a long while ago. The trailer didn't just now prove that Spiderman survived.
Personally, I don't think it was any question whether or not those dusted would stay dead. The real question is what will the survivors go through and who will die getting them back and that's the real anticipation of Endgame. I took it as everyone who got dusted is safe to appear in Phase 4 and beyond and they weren't going to yank people's chains pretending like it is permanent.
so what you're saying is rocket raccoon is kill
I doubt it, but he is among those who could be killed. At least, I think that's what you meant.

Was mainly joking, saying that "oh because they weren't snapped, that must mean that they're on death row."
so basically Spider died but... didn't?
Why are you so surprised? Wait for Infinity War 2
Why shouldn't I? Spidey's death was a turning point in IW, I'm not the only one surprised he's basically back to life for no aparent reason. I'd make more sense to have the movie take part prior to IW than after for that reason alone, unless I'm missing something.
Man, literally everything but Mysterio in this is aggressively "meh". I'm sick of Spider-Man being "Iron Boy"; Homecoming had a really nice thematic thing with the Stark Suit. It was overcomplicated because Tony made the kind of thing that would work for him, not Pete, so literally every single gadget (even the parachute) failed at some point and nearly got Pete killed. So then he had to put on his underoos to fight Vulture and it ends with him rejecting the Iron Spider suit in favor of being his own man. Infinity War, he becomes an Avenger and gets the Iron suit anyway, but fuck it, it's an event and Spidey needs to be able to breathe in space. But now here we are with the next standalone Spider-Man movie and instead of working for Tony Stark, he's working for Nick Fury, who gives him a SHIELD suit, so we can make a toy out of that one too. Like everyone else, maybe I'm just coming down from Spider-Verse getting the core of the character so right, but it really feels like Disney doesn't understand Peter Parker beyond "haha woah web shooters thwip thwip cracking jokes he's a kid haha". Sony's finally gone and gotten their shit in gear; the video game gets it, Spider-Verse gets it, hell even Venom got it in a cheesy 90's kinda way. But MCU Spider-Man, as well-acted as he is, still feels like he lacks agency, like he's stagnating as a character. I also don't like how Aunt May is totally down with him being Spider-Man, especially after Infinity War.
The thing that immediately bugged me the most about that trailer is the idea that Peter basically had to be poked and prodded into being Spider-Man on his vacation. Like he would have just let it all fly right past if Nick Fury wasn't there to tell him what to do.
