Marvel shines on its movies but can't do shit with its shows. DC made suicide squad but you get to forget about it thanks to their animated shows.
Spoilers, technically. Gwyneth Paltrow to Exit Marvel Cinematic Universe – Variety
not really, considering she already 'left' once before, also with attendant line of 'if they pay me big gib monies, sure I'll come back' also Goop is fucking atrocious
I don't think the separate Marvel "universes" being run by different divisions/companies is any sweat off of Feige's hat-covered brow. They seem happy enough turning crazy shit like Guardians of the Galaxy and the fucking Eternals into movies. I don't even think the Fox acquisition had anything to do with FF/X-Men. Those kinds of decisions are orders of magnitudes above superhero concerns. It was just giants eating one another, something that now just happens in our current form of capitalism. I think the only real bad blood is between Marvel Studios as headed by Feige and the rest of Marvel, including TV, headed by Ike Perlmutter, best personified by the fucking Inhumans shit, and I'm not even sure which house the Netflix stuff fell under.
She said the same thing after Iron Man 3, so it means nothing
She can come back for a cameo easily.
Oh my, whatever are we going to do from now on without her compelling and multi-layered character, I wonder
I don't understand, they have recast Rodey and Bruce Banner but can't recast love interests (Thor's as much as Ironmans, but at least they straight replaced Thor's)
Rhodes was recast after one film and everyone forgot the hulk movies
Rodey and Bruce were both recast early in phase 1, as in before Avengers even came out. Hell, Norton's Hulk movie was released before we even know there was going to be an MCU, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that when Ruffalo started playing the Bruce, I figured it was an entirely different version of the character. Rodey's recast similarly happened in I think the first movie that even hinted at the MCU becoming a thing. It's been years since either of those recasts happened, and at this point, it could be entirely a matter of branding: note the fact that we've got more than a few actors leaving the MCU after Endgame, with their characters probably being dead. Sure, contracts are another factor, but I imagine if anybody quits at this point, it's going to result in the character not showing up anymore for one reason or another.
when you say they "replaced" thor's love interest, are you talking about valk? 'cos i genuinely never got a "love interest" vibe from them at all
Neither did I but that's what I read she's suppose to be.
They have the money and the technology to just buy 'the face' and keep going as if nothing happened
It might be more of a "female lead" situation. I mean, it's possible that's there intention, but I suspect we're not going to get a whole new Thor trilogy to play it out or anything.
what the MCU needs is a Warmachine movie that plays out basically like the good parts of Iron Man 1 where he just destroys poor arab fighters left right and center. It won't even need a plot.
I would kill for another gritty/realistic Marvel movie like the first few. Iron Man was certainly full of light-hearted moments, but gosh has the tone completely changed over time for these new solo movies.
Iron Man 1 was a great power trip because anyone could wear the suit and decimate criminals and terrorists. I'd love a return to that, especially if it gave Rhodes some more time to shine.
/TV/, stop calling it capeshit, not all of them wears capes. :p

and the best MCU show continues to truck on
By process of elimination
only reason is it wasn't made at netflix
Uh no Coulson is why and you know it. Can't wait for hacker girl to die so we can watch him cry.
Daredevil and Punisher had better retention at their worst than AoS had off their best season. .53/2 is nothing to crow about and Iger has made no bones about making a three year syndication vehicle.
You really haven't been watching it have you? Daisy hasn't been 'Hacker girl' for a few years now.
I have been watching and I have disliked her character for every season.
Yeah, I have to agree on this one. They evolved the character, yeah, but she always comes off childish and unlikeable to me
that kick tho
I could give a damn about BP's awards. https://twitter.com/SpiderVerse/status/1099859388498509824
Honestly did not see that coming. I was certain Disney/Pixar would take it again, because the academy are hacks (and the show is aired on ABC, which is owned by Disney), but I will happily eat that crow. 2018 was a great year for superhero movies, especially ones that aren't MCU-related. Aquaman was fun enough to break Wan billion dollars, Spider-Verse wins Best Animated Film, Venom makes enough money to confirm a sequel, Suicide Squad 2 lands James Gunn after he got fucked over; the MCU needs competition in order to grow and evolve, and by god it's finally getting it.
