If they don't use the script or rehire James Gunn, then I wish Bautista the best of luck trying to get out of that contract. I wouldn't want to deal with Disney lawyers.
You know, I'm really glad this bullshit with James Gunn happened after Avengers 4 was already filmed. Even if things went completely to shit, we would at least have one final movie involving the Guardians that was created under the supervision of Gunn.
NZ Netflix won't miss what it never had
Silver & Black no more. https://deadline.com/2018/08/silver-and-black-halted-venom-black-cat-nightwatch-sony-marvel-movies-1202443207/ Jackpot, Silk and Nightwatch are also slated.
Night Thrasher movie or get the fuck out of my god damn face, Sony.
"Nooo but don't you get it??? They're both GIRLS who know SPIDER-MAN!!1!"- Amy Pascal, on smashing the patriarchy
Apparently Marvel pulled Deadpool because the season finale Taylor Swift episode was "completely insensitive to women". Meanwhile, Agnes Chu just said in an interview that Defenders will stay on Netflix "indefinitely".
Thats because Defenders doesnt target anyone in particular with its quality: every group out there reached a consensus about it being a hot pile of garbage.
Nah. In disney's ville everything is great! and amazing! and so good! The fact is you've seen a black man's buck naked ass and someone be beat to death with a car door until their head literally disintegrated, and that will never take place in any Disney venue. So unless D! uses BVTV! (Buena Vista TeleViolence) on a completely separate marketing venue to launch AvP: The Series; Netflix will simply be Disney's literal mid tier R rated dumping ground with "special series for discerning audiences".

I would unironically watch this. Imagine if they got the Into the Spider-Verse guys to make it a hyper-stylized animated thing that goes for aggressive 90's nostaliga, rather than aggressive 80's nostaliga. So it ends up looking like a cross between MTV's Liquid Television and a Go-Gurt commercial.
The streaming market is going to crash if this keeps up. Nobody wants to pay for Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, DCU, Disney, etc just to be able to watch all the shows they want to watch. Piracy is going to see a huge resurgence imo.
Stupidest shit ever. You have RDJ as the face of literally everything you've done for the last decade, and anyone can take a look at his past and come to the conclusion he isn't very "Disneyesque". Then they double down on this just because they want to be the "good guys". That's bullshit.
If only he'd molested and secually harassed lower-level employees over the course of years, maybe then they would've been able to sweep it under the rug. But decade-old naughty tweets are just indefensible.
"Spokespeople for Disney and Marvel declined to comment." Of course
Dammit, Danny, that's the exactly opposite of your mask.
I sincerely hope it's way better than the first season, though that probably won't be too hard unless they reaaally fuck it up somehow
The episode with him in Luke Cage season 2 was better than the entire first season of Iron Fist
I finally got to see Ant Man and the Wasp. And I gotta say, this will probably be my favourite Marvel movie of them all. Not because it's a masterpiece of cinematography, but because it made me happy in a time where seemingly everything is going wrong. Thank you Antman.
I dont know, having Disney massive backlog of movies and tv shows in one place is pretty sweet. All Marvel, all Star Wars, all Disney shows that arnt available to stream in one place.
It's funny how streaming became huge because people were tired of cable company bullshit where you had to pay for a million channels you didn't need in order to get the 5 you were actually gonna watch, only now we've reached the point where streaming services are gonna do the same exact thing (wanna watch anything owned by Disney? You need to pay for this one too now; Warner Bros is on the World of DC app, and Netflix Originals are still on Netflix). Between this, the James Gunn debacle, and Disney's rapid consolidation of media they're not even gonna use, it feels like they've gotten cocky; that attitude of "we can do whatever the fuck we want, we're Mickey fucking Mouse" is what crashed Star Wars before it even had a chance to get going. Kevin Feige was the one cog in the machine that kept the MCU running, and now corporate has shown they're not above forcing his hand either, if there's money to be made (or lost). I've been one of the most optimistic out there when it comes to the MCU's future after Avengers 4, but for the first time ever I'm seriously feeling like the whole ship might finally start to sink once Thanos is dealt with.
Disney hasn't changed since the mid eighties, and most of the same people still work there.
Well yeah but it's the difference in how they're handling their franchises now that they're arguably bigger than they've ever been. They were in a real bind during the mid-2000's, before the modern Revival, where nearly everything they put out does utter gangbusters at the box office (aside from the odd exception like Tomorrowland or A Wrinkle in Time). The way they're throwing their money around implies a real "we can do whatever we want and still profit" attitude, and we're finally starting to see that attitude reflected in things like Wreck-It Ralph 2 and the way they cut off Gunn without even blinking. It just gives me a real ominous feeling, is all. It's a mindset that reminds me of studios like Sony and Warner Bros, and we're all familiar with how that turns out.
They were in real bind because of their arrogance and creative bankruptcy during the first "remake/update era" in the 90s. Sound familiar?
"Avengers 4 Teaser Clip" Daryl is the key to all of this I guess.
Somebody remade the leaked Infinity War Comic Con trailer using footage from the final movie. It's kinda neat to see for the sake of trivia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16bO4QOlOy4
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/guardians-galaxy-3-production-hold-james-gunn-firing-1137400 I wonder if Disney is preparing to fire Dave Bautista for tweets like this: https://twitter.com/DaveBautista/status/1032837400580501506
Spider-Man probably got the loudest cheers out of anything in that trailer.
Batista is the hero we need. I'd honestly be fine if Guardians 3 just didn't come out after this whole mess. It wouldn't feel right pushing it through without James Gunn, and I want Disney to suffer some kind of consequences for not only continuing this trend of "you can lose your job if someone says their fee-fees were hurt by your naughty words", but for kowtowing to actual fucking Neo-Nazis and rape apologists. You can tell that Feige had his hands tied for this whole thing, but the way the higher-ups handled it has really left an awful taste in my mouth. Disney's done a remarkable amount for the curation of entertainment over the years, but I don't like they way they've been operating as of late at all.
