Watch season 1 and 2
Watched it through, it's a solid 8/10 at least.
Fucking shit even worse news Luke Cage has been cancelled.
Holy crap the ACTUAL single shot 11 minute fight scene in Daredevil s3e4 was something else. The faked single shot scene in the second season was such a bummer but this was probably the craziest thing I've ever seen on film, not just in a TV show.
They're gonna put that shit on Disney's exclusive service no doubt.
Well I hope they enjoy getting nothing lol
I personally think Jessica Jones is terrible and boring. At least Iron Fist is likable. Also with Netflix producing the shows I don't think Disney can take them but maybe share them.
I mean I enjoyed DD, The punisher and JJ, JJ was probably my least fav out of the 3 but not the worst
Could be a smart way to get people to buy into it idk
I mean if you enjoyed them 2 shows sure go for it
if they had a working deal going they would have announced it, so either there's an NDA or Netflix was already kosher with dumping them to get upcoming series on board with funding, because you don't release a hallmark series in the summer for TV. Ever.
Maybe some day. In the meantime I started The Wire instead. Already past episode 2, so I think I'm actually sticking with this one.
Some of the writing in Episodes 1 and 2 is irritating (characters talking to themselves irritates me if it doesn't make sense in the scene). Episode 3 is where it starts picking up and each subsequent episode is fantastic. Episode 6 in particular is composed almost entirely of long takes, so that's worth watching if you're into that kind of stuff. Overall it's a really good show, just takes a few episodes to really get going.
How I Met Your Mother It was a decent, easy to watch sitcom. It dragged with emotional drama at times. Also managed to deliver a twist at the end (I wasn't expecting a twist).
The haunting of Hill House(Netflix) A fantastic ride, great acting(even from the child actors) and not filled with jump scares. It’s not really a full-on horror show but that makes the intense moments even more effective. Just watch it
Last Man. Admittedly I'm only about half way through it, but its a animated prologue to a french comic. Supernatural shit, excellent fights, writing with a punch and generally well paced (no filler but not rushed). It is behind a paywall on VRV but I think its worth even just the trial. Atleast the first episode is free (The dub is pretty solid overall honestly): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cnk--w6fz4M
Castlevania Season 2 There wasn't much to the first season, while enjoyable and a well done adaptation, it left the viewer wanting for more because of its "prologue" nature, when things start to kick off it's over. One year later and we finally see how the story unfolds, and it's done in a really masterful way. Mind you, the story still has a slow pacing, especially now that the plot jumps back and forth between Dracula's court and our heroes (with them being put on the backburner, more about that later). It's done in a HBO-ish Game Of Throne-ish kind of way where they really want you to understand each character's motivation. There are not many action scenes, kinda like the first season, but the few scenes there are, are done perfectly both pacing and animation wise. While being probably the best videogame adaptation out there, there are still some issues i had with it: 1)Not much focus on the heroes compared to the bad guys, doesn't feel like they are on an adventure. 2)I would've liked to see more monsters from the videogames instead of vampires and bat/gargoyle like beasts, especially considering the few different monsters they've put are done really well. 3) Spoiler: Even if Dracula's death was really well done, i think they should've saved that for a future SOTN adaptation and instead let Trevor kill him. Otherwise you kinda lose that feeling the games have, that the Belmonts are the ultimate Dracula slayers, in the videogames, other characters started facing and killing Dracula after they've established a strong identity of the Belmont Clan.
I posted here a while ago about this and a few other series, but I finally got around to watching The Story of Film: An Odyssey again and just finished the 11th episode. Seriously recommend this one for anyone with a passion for films and filmmaking.
Just watched the first season and a bit of Weeds. I was looking for a comedy and it has delivered - the Doug Wilson character has managed to make me laugh every episode so far.
Just started watching Dark on Netflix due to a recommendation of a friend. It all looked really promising but now after 2 episodes I feel incredibly bored and I do not know why. I get some heavy Stranger Things and Lost influences which is neat but somehow it doesn't work for me. The cinematography is solid and the actual setting is cool. Despite that I barely made it through the second episode, it tries to craft a mystery but it feels very derivative. Furthermore, the cast of characters is so shallow and unlikeable.
Castlevania S2. Really good. I love the voice acting, animation, and action. Its very well made Netflix Lost in Space. Its a very well made show, lots of practical effects and good special effects. The suit designs is one of my favorite designs. However, one of the most important plots of Lost in Space is the character Dr. Smith, that character has always been there since the original and movie. In this...the character servers no purpose, has no use, no skills, no nothing. Totally and utterly useless, and i hate it. The entire plot of being stranded could continue without her being around and shes ALWAYS at the right spot at the right moment. Really annoying. By the end of the 10 episodes i was tired of it all, i just wanted it to end. All the rest of the characters are pretty good and good acting.
Really? I thought Parker Posey was one of the best parts of the show
Im just saying, there wasnt many motivations for the character and she didnt have any real reason to be there or to do the things she was doing. Compared the character to other Dr. Smiths, i just dont see why they didnt flesh her out other than "i wanna start a new life". Boring
Recently finished watching Bodyguard and I think it has the perfect pacing for a TV show. It's 7 episodes long which I think is the TV show sweetspot. The show has so many intense scenes who completely draw you in. Great acting from the lead role(s) as well.
I'm halfway through the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix and it is surprisingly enjoyable. The characters are fun if some are cliche, the story isn't anything especially unique but it's presented well, the overall art direction is really nice. I do however sorta hate the actual camera work because it has some like horribly foveated effect or something that just makes everything but the center of the shot blurry. It's awful. But that is my biggest complaint right now. I'm gonna finish the other half probably before the weekend is done. It's a good mix of comedy, horror/thriller, and drama.
I also agree, though i felt like the tone of the show was not consistent for the first half (Like, some scenes seem to be a lighthearted comedy and others are really dark, and it goes back and forth until the plot develops). Some characters like Sabrina's friends were also really underdeveloped. Still a good show though and i can't wait for season 2.
I've just finished S2 of Daredevil. Please tell me The Punisher series is just as good? I almost enjoyed his appearance more than Daredevils.
I liked his stand alone show quite a bit. It gets pretty disgustingly gory, but some people might be into that.
The B plots are kinda lame and it does suffer from some pretty bad editing and low production value at times, but it’s an enjoyable series.
Its alright, it goes more into his character than straight up killing people all the time. It can get a bit slow and near the end i was tired of it because of certain reasons.
