this man speaks the truth yuru camp is the comfiest anime i've ever watched and everyone should watch it, preferrably during winter, drinking hot chocolate
non non biyori for cute-girls-doing-cute-things comfy and mushishi for melancholic comfy
It's also getting a Season 2 as well. Like legit hearing that an anime you like is getting another season is one of the best feelings.
No idea about the others, but I enjoyed Kazumi Magica a lot.
Poor @_maverick_ . Just finished two anime from the backlog, and immediately gained three more. Like a never ending mug of comfy hot chocolate.

My memories are a bit flurry so I might get something mixed up. Majuu-Hen/Wraith-Arc tells the story between the anime and the movie and the anime staffs also worked on it iirc The Different Story has a slightly different story with the anime and have a lot more focus on Mami and Kyoko, telling more of their backstory and thoughts missing from the main show. Its ends up being one of the alternate timelines visited by Homura These two closely follow the story of the original show so you will probably like it if you enjoyed the show. Oriko Magica is a new story with a new cast along with some of the original girls. The story can be separated into two parts, one part focusing on Kyoko, and the other focusing more on the new characters. The story is fairly different from the original show with different focus, and it kinda tries to fill in some of the plot holes in the original story. It's pretty decent and also expanded on the characters of the original girls so you might like it if you enjoyed the original cast. I haven't read the Extra stuffs so I can't really comment on that. It also ends up being one of the alternative timelines like The Different Story Kazumi Magica is an original story with no real ties to the Madoka's story, under the same settings as Madoka. The biggest problem I had about this is the pacing. Unlike the original show, the story solely focus on the magical girl side. There aren't much about the daily lives/school life so the "girls" part feel weak and everything is too fast. The length is also quite short. Still, the twist is not bad and the ending concluded most of the stuffs, despite ending so quickly. Tart Magica is again an original story under the Madoka setting featuring Joan of Arc as the magical girl. It also feels like having some influences from the Fate series in terms of some designs. The things about magical girls in Madoka is revealed pretty early in this one, the difference on the reaction is quite neat. The overall story is more similar to Fate and Nanoha instead of Madoka, and I really enjoyed it. Suzune Magica is pretty bad. It's also an original story under the same setting with a new cast. It is about Suzune, a magical girl who "assassinate" other magical girls. The story introduce the settings and the character nicely, but then it goes no where in the middle. The main "villain" only appears next the end of the story with a really bad motive and then ends witheveryone dies kinda similar to the alternate timeline in the original show. The art is decent but the combat scenes can be really bad at times. Haven't read the others aside from the Magic Record 4-koma.
Isn't that how everyone watches anime?? That's how it is for me most of the time at least. Spend several months slowly adding series to my backlog, finally get around to watching them and binge watch them, in the process find another decent chunk of new anime to add to the list, then repeat the entire process.
Youji Senki has a movie now or something? Did I miss something?
Its in the works. And a Season 2 I believe.
Movie is out in cinema, season 2 is was rumored but turned out to be the movie.
Not sure how many people here read Kingdom but, last two chapters (592 spoilers are out) made me cry hard just now. Much like when "Don't ever let your fire die out" happened
I tried to get into Kingdom but after it made me very sad several times just during the first 100 chapters I put it on hold for when life is good enough to indulge in depressing shit again.
same with punpun, it made me have real depressive episodes lol
It's not made out to be depressing just for being depressing. Sure there's moments of immense sadness but the payoffs are great. I can't comment on your reaction to Kingdom but, I've got severe clinical depression and Kingdom is one of the few things keeping me going, if that makes sense?
In the sense that it's a constant that you can look forward to every week(bi weekly?) it makes a tonne of sense. I just noticed a general trend of it dragging its characters trough the gutter over and over. When I inevitably start working nights again this spring I'll probably get over myself and read it in no time.
Now that I think about, Kingdom does have a shit-ton of tragedy. Makes me wonder how they'll handle the ending when, spoiler alert, China is unified.
I finally got around to finish reading Girls' Last Tour and now I'm deeply sad.
it was bittersweet, imo
Binged to latest episode of Domestic Girlfriend. Am I a terrible person for liking this show? I really enjoy drama romance.
psycho pass 3 was just announced
More importantly, with the director of season 1.

Caught up on Mob Psycho after getting encouragement from the thread. Pretty good so far. S2 is finally picking up. Glad I got back into it. Also, The Promised Neverland is the shit.
I spent the whole day reading 'Komi-san is bad at communicating' from start to finish (or at least the last update my app had) I love it and now I just want more. NAJIMI IS THE FUCKING BEST
Watched Flavors of Youth (Shikioriori) Everything I watch from CoMix Wave makes me hungry because the food is always fantastically drawn.
