Oh my god I'm so hyped about this.
So after getting burned out on a bunch of manga not too long ago (jojo / I am a hero / Tokyo undead / Planetes) , I recently stumbled upon a segment of Beastars showing off how its great at visualizing racial discrimination on tumblr. I went in expecting Japanese zootopia, and instead I got an extremely relatable manga about racial tensions, interracial relationships, and life with said subjects. I immediately related to the main character entirely, because it reminds me and plays the exact same thoughts/situations I have in my day to day with dating someone of a different race in an extremely conservative area (to the point that interracial couples still raise some eyebrows in certain areas, including my father). It absolutely hits home every single time. I've got friends hooked on it now, but good lord i love every second and twists in the story.
I don't think I fully understand the subject from how you've described it, but I'm interested nonetheless, could you link this?
Heres the manga online: Beastars Manga | Mangabat.com Also netflix picked it up for a cg anime: https://youtu.be/S6H1qskbEIg
Specifically Orange is animating it, the studio who made Houseki no Kuni.
Okay, this is really engaging, I'm definitely a fan And that Anime adaptation looks good too I just hope it can pull off the harsh and jagged movements of an animal rather than it being just a human with animal face.
Artwork gets better later in the series as well, some of the early chapters are very rough till the artist gets their bearings.
I'm really enjoying Ueno-san but that's primarily because I'm a degenerate. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1218/9442d855-2ed8-4d38-9e84-2cf1a0f5041f/no_panties.jpg The Kaguya anime is doing Fujiwara a lot of justice considering how she acts in the manga but it's good so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Mob Psycho ep11 Fucking hell there goes the whole budget. Are they working for free on ep12?
Ep 12 will be entirely slow pans over the manga strips.
how much fucking budget do they have, i probably said "there goes all the budget" a few times this season really good animation
tbh it didn't leave as much as an impression on me as season 1, there was definitely more emphasis on slice of life this season, and even in the fights things seem less fluid. also, the soundtrack definitely has less of a presence here, a lot of the times it's just absent in places it could make a huge impact.
I've finished reading this manga, and I've got to admit it is very addicting I love the whole idea its trying to portray, it accomplishes it very well but I also find It incredibly sad that legosi has to suffer so much for the world's harsh realities. Nevertheless, I've recommended it to my friends too. Thanks for sharing it.
Oh man, just watched Dorororo ep11 and their budget must have run out because hot damn that was poorly animated.

When your animation looks stiff and lifeless in your PV you're in for a bad time.
It feels bad falling in love with the post Boros story knowing how the adaptation will turn out.
That can't be the best of what they got for us. The standards set by the first season are so high animation wise that it would be pretty silly if that was it. I'm hoping they're working on lowering expectations and giving us great animation, if not amazing and fantastic animation like S1.
Where the hell is the optimistic rating when I need it? That show is going to be a compilation of bad animation with a couple of decent shots mixed into the earlier episodes.
It's a different studio than the one that was responsible for S1, so that's why the quality is so different. Chances are they just don't have the right people for the job.
well that was absolutely depressing, especially after mob psycho
Upper management poisons everything.
Sorry for the delay in reply. I personally do not have a problem with it. I do not see why not as long as it is relevant to plot/setting. Although I have not seen very many anime or manga portraying such things myself so maybe I cannot comment on it very much. At the moment I cannot think of anything that only gets liked here. It seems like whatever takes off here also gets pretty well received overseas. Not that I can think of. I personally think it is okay as it is right now, definitely not annoying.
It was only a matter of time. We already have maid-gyms: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3-sserp3Pc
just saw this this seems to be made up fully of shots from the episodes themselves, and half of those, if not more, are of people talking this is gonna be a letdown isn't it?
tfw no Japanese powerlifting maid gf to dominate me in the squat rack
Can someone tell me what's up with the first two Madoka Magica movies? I had thought they were just a recut, shorter version of the anime, but i just saw a clip on Youtube I can't place that supposedly comes from movie 2. So are they actually different, with extra stuff added?
J.C. Staff is making like 12 shows all at the same time, don't expect them to create anything near the quality of Season 1. It's not like J.C. is good with action shows to begin with, the only action show that wasn't a mess by J.C recently is Planet With and that was CG (also the project started like 4 years ago).
Planet With is great but the 2D animation has no particular flair or notable moments, and the CG starts bad and improves until it's somewhere between mediocre and okay. They're very on and off. Alice to Zouroku has pretty good action animation, and although Children of the Whales is an incredibly bad show the animation was pretty decent. Hell, even Satsuriku no Tenshi, which is a really silly adaptation of an RPGmaker horror game, has surprisingly solid animation. It's not impossible for them to turn out decent animation on occasion, but those are a tiny handful of shows in a sea of badly animated shows they churn out and it's never anywhere approaching OPM.
They're just recaps of the series with improved animations iirc
