The big issue is Thanos going to the future, in that timeline Thanos and his army just disappears in 2014 and never comes back.
It's two different realities, therefore the events that happened in the current timeline still happened, yet Thanos disappears completely from the reality he came from
Who was that woman with General Ross at the funeral? And that teenager right before him?
I understand taht, and that's why old cap shouldn't be in this reality, but in another one where Thanos disappears.
the teen was Harley from Iron man 3
I think the teenager was the kid from Iron Man 3. Not sure about the woman.
I haven’t seen that movie since it hit home release so it completely went over my head. Thanks.
Regarding Old Cap: I like to think that he lived an entire life in a completely different timeline (in which he married Peggy, used his knowledge to save Bucky and overthrow Hydra, and do whatever else he needed), then once she died he finally returned to his original time. The fact that he didn't return to the platform isn't an issue; Tony and Cap didn't have it when they traveled from 2012 New York to 1970 New Jersey. The platform was just an "anchor point" (as someone on Reddit put it) where Hulk could bring Cap back. Cap just disabled his suit or something and waited to return on his own terms.
That's what I'm going with, anyway, since the idea of him always existing in the prime MCU timeline kinda breaks everything.
My assumption is that Cappy is supposed to be assumed to have always gone back, and always have been Peggy's unnamed husband. That doesn't really fit with how the rest of the time travel seemed to work, but I figure Marvel's answer is going to be a shrug and a "time travel is weird! That's just how it worked out! Crazy, huh?"
I'm at least 82% okay with that, though, because the story beats were good.
I wonder if that Clint scene at the start was originally meant for Infinity War. Didn't they say there were Hawkeye scenes shot for Infinity War?
The whole timeline situation is fucked up anyway, because there's a timeline that DOESN'T have Thanos and his armies.
Which means places like Nova Prime will still be standing.
But that's another timeline, presumably a better one.
I just didn't like the haircut. At all.
Biased af because long hair beats rocks papper AND scizors, but something about the new haircut felt very… "Statementy"
Like, fuck, you had my attention right after she blew up the thanoscopter in the most "lol fuck you haha" kind of way, we get it, girl power.
Scarlet Witch, as mentioned, was rad af aswell. Hella fun to see her pissed OFF.
Kind of feel like they could have used CapMarvel a fair bit more though. Kind of really want to watch the movie now because it looks like an average powertrip powerfantasy powerwhatever kind of character and I really like those.
How many caught Howard the Duck in the final battle? I didn't, but someone posted a screencap on the Marvel Subreddit, and it seems legit, and other people confirmed seeing him
Bottom right

Not gonna lie, when Cap finally said "Avengers, Assemble" I think I may have been the only one in my theater who cheered, but I do not regret it, it was too loud for me to have been able to hear anyway. I cried when Tony bit it and did not stop until after the funeral. Every bit of this movie felt like a reward for all of these last eleven years, and I can wholeheartedly say that I am satisfied.
I'll be honest, I was expecting Cap to hit the bucket, not Tony. I do find it fitting that the whole MCU started with Iron Man 1, and the one to finish it was also Iron Man. All i all, couldn't ask for a better conclusion.
It was assumed but as the movie established, you can't go to the past and alter the future (create a time paradox). It's what Kirbunny said, Cap just decided to stay in that timeline and live with Peggy.
Which pretty much means they saved both timelines from Thanos, one unintentionally.
I've yet to see it, but someone I know who can't stand Marvel movies but got dragged to it said that it was, and I quote "The legitimately most entertaining movie I've seen in years"
Man, Been following the MCU since Iron Man. I feel like this is where i can jump ship outside of the next Guardians. I cried a lot tbh.

Honestly the part where Rocket got stuck and almost drowning made me hurt. Poor boi was yelling and screaming and it felt so real. I totally think he was terrified.
also the rest of the movie was fantastic
Damn that was good shit. Stellar payoff of all the last movies.
Also good god that slow reveal of fat Thor. The build-up to it, and how you just slowly expect to see some cliche angry drunk, but instead get fat jolly slob, was just sublime. Pretty much everything involving fat thor was great really, and that fucking "is he asleep?" bit during their meeting was some of the funniest shit yet. I can't wait to see where they go with that in GOTG 3.
so is anyone gonna mentionhow stupid black widows death was? it was basically just a copypaste of gamoras death, same pose when she was on the ground and even same soundtrack playing lmao goddamn. i was laughing honestly at how stupid it was
cap going to the past to be with peggy was also a little...questionable. Didnt she move on with her life and get a husband in that one marvel tv show? i thought the closure cap got with elderly peggy dying in winter soldier/civil war(cant remember) was supposed to give the message that cap is ready to move on, but nah i guess not then
Steve Rogers implanting himself in a different period of the main timeline to marry and live a natural life alongside Peggy is indeed the greatest plot hole the whole new quantic time travelling shenanigans brought to the movie, but far from the only one.
Putting aside the (several) questions about how exactly one can do that and the repercussions on the main and tangential timelines (something the movie actually never addresses once and for all, by the way, to the point even the characters start contraddicting themselves on the subject), does that mean that the main timeline has now two different version of Steve Rogers perfectly coexisting together? Why the time travelling Steve doesn't feel the urge to tell someone in the past about HYDRA's exploits, since he knows they have effectively infiltrated the SHIELD and that Bucky will be subjected to torture and conditioned into serving them? Why during the events of The Winter Soldier Peggy reacts to Steve's visit as if really she thought he lost him forever to the ice, if she has been married to the time travelling Steve for years now? Let's also, shall we say, appreciate the fact that, in The Winter Soldier still, the Steve from the main timeline made out with Sharon Carter while the time travelling Steve was married to her aunt, therefore making her kin of his, in a twisted, roundabout-sort of way
I know it isn't established in the movie but it feels better for me to just believe that Steve travelled to the alternate timeline, lived out his life and then travelled back to the main timeline when his life with Peggy is over to pass on the torch.
Or Peggy's husband has ALWAYS been Steve, who kept himself out of the spotlight for some 75 years.
No It's been established that the timelines that they enter via the quantum time travel are alternative timelines to their current one
Or perhaps yes, and this Captain is NOT the one who left a few seconds before, but one that originates from a timeline that is 70 years in the future from the main one, and has always been there.
I'm going to have to watch it again, but I feel like the Ancient One's explanation is that because of their importance, only removing the Stones causes alternate timelines, and once they're put back, the timelines realign. Additionally, according to Bruce, nothing you can do in the past affects the present (No killing baby Thanos). Once something happens, that's just the way things are in your present.
So if the MCU as we've known it is timeline A, and changing things in 2014 creates timeline B, then Third Act Thanos comes from timeline B after the split, so timeline A is unaffected - him traveling to the future and dying doesn't affect the present of timeline A, because it's already happened from the present's perspective (and Nebula B's future doesn't affect Nebula A's past because 1, she's now from a split timeline, and 2, because the past doesn't catch up with you anyway). And when Steve returns the stones timeline B is erased, so it doesn't matter who traveled from it or not. Additionally, I assume Gamora B should be fine, because time doesn't catch up with you, but she's not in the movie that I can I remember after the Tony Snap, and I think someone said that Starlord was looking for her at the end when Thor was messing with him, so... plot point for the next Asgardians of the Galaxy movie, I guess?
So the point of all this, is that Steve's time travel adventure doesn't matter, because he created his own new history as he went, and the timeline can't change for everybody in the present anyway, I guess? Worst case scenario, sucks to be Enver Gjokaj's character on the Agent Carter TV show.
That and 2012 Loki is alive and well somewhere having not learned a damn thing.
Honestly, at first I was a bit worried. I don't know why but some of the dialog at the start felt really bad. The scene is on the internet as one of the promos but I tag it anyway. When they plan to go after Thanos at the start all the lines felt very unnatural.
After that it got better and it is a pretty great send-off for the 10 years of MCU. I'm getting tired of superhero movies and the last couple of them didn't do much for me. Infinity War and Endgame still impressed me because they were able to tackle so many characters and had stakes and consequences.
Overall I enjoyed it and the last portion of the movie is quite the roller coaster. I need to address some plot points in Endgame though.
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS
FOR ENDGAME
SERIOUS SPOILERS
This movie used time travel but it wasn't about time travel. I decided not to care much about the logic of it in this movie because it would turn into a mess.
What I have to appreciate is while the snap in Infinity War did nothing to me (yeah... all these characters are surely gone...) seeing them return for the final battle was very hype.
I feel like Thor's development is constantly restarted. Again in this movie he's a fuck up that needs to grow up. In Thor 1 he's young and hotheaded and needs to mature. I still haven't seen Thor 2. In Thor Ragnarok he loses his hammer and needs to mature (learns he doesn't need the hammer and Asgard is people that he should take care of). Infinity War, not much development except for I NEED HAMMER! Endgame, he needs several pep talks and turned into The Dude. At the end decides to fuck off from Asgard for his own adventures. Like what the fuck have you been doing all this time?
Female superheroes moment was okay but why the hell was Mantis there? I think she even looked a bit like she was thinking: "Should I be here?"
I'm glad Captain Marvel wasn't in most of the movie with even less lines because although Brie is a good actress (at least in Room she was) Captain Marvel didn't click with me at all.
Captain Marvel felt unnecessary to the plot. I felt the same about Spider-Man in Civil War as well.
